Fun and Competitive Weapons and Game Types

As the title said, we need some fun weapons for Halo 4(and game types… Like sumo Grande!).

Part of what Halo is to me is being able to mess around during competitive play and still win.

I can’t tell you how many times I’d use a flame thrower on Construct and I’d be that guy. The jerk flaming you as you go up the purple lift or the jerk slowly trudging towards you with a wall of flame they probably won’t kill you at that point.

But the thing is, I had fun doing it while still winning the game, I may not come in positive but my teammates would certainly clean up.

So here’s hoping we get some fun new weapons and while we’re at it we should think of some fun game types they could use too.

Personally I thought of a competitive game type they could possibly use. It’s a form of VIP but the enemy has the VIP captive (probably best to make it an AI) and it’s in the enemy base, the objective is to get in, release him and escort back to base and that’s where the light shields come in best I think, provide cover as the AI heads to base and if the AI dies it should just respawn in his captive zone.

Erickyboo, you gave me an idea with this one for a competetive action sack game. Humans v Predetor game type. Three predetors vs 5 Spartans, Preds spawn with Vision and Camo ability. Spawn with power melee weapons and have a single spawn base that’s enclosed with one two way shield door(only allows preds in) and teleports out. Preds have no shields but high health. Specialty weapons spawn in their base (rail gun and other weapons for them). And Preds can’t pick up the human weapons.

And lastly everyone has lives. Maybe 3 lives each for humans and no lives for Predetors.

It’s too bad that 343 couldn’t give us some Non Spartan models to work with in custom games. Like A Promethean Alien/Predator armor or playable character. I always wanted a Juggernaught Model, something bigger than the normal player that borders on insanely armored human tank to match the play type. If anything some Flood Skins for Zombie type models for custom games.

Map: Bouncy Castle: enclosed rectangle of 1 way shield doors, spawns drop players into the box

Special Rules: Indirect fire only

Chaos ensues.

Need an anti gravity gun and ability for passenger to use thruster/jet pack on the back of the mongoose for the luls!

I like the VIP idea but take it in a slightly different direction.

You don’t “escort” the VIP. You capture him! Haul him over your shoulder, drag his -Yoink- out on your back, and if you need to swing him about the leg for the best melee weapon in FPS history (also 1-uping GOW in the process.)

I think it would be even better if the flailing body had a human mind behind it (if you could do something to make being the VIP less boring, namely a set time limit that switches the role out after, say, 2 min., with special escort targets to wrack up bonus points and supply drops for playing your VIP in a forward position.) And just imagine, “Lord Boobingston beat down Raging Sea Goat with Duncan Idaho!” That alone justifies this, never mind making multiplayer more enjoyable for it’s own sake.

Oh, and if you want to be really crazy with this have a “Stockholm” VIP variant where the VIP, when captured, switches teams. Then the next man down the list on the other side becomes the VIP and that team must defend themselves in an ever-more unbalanced scenario. You may even cut out the VIP designation altogether and allow ANY player to be captured from the defending team.

Whichever side captures the other team the fastest wins. And to make some point for the swapped players to contribute, they score considerable bonus exp for themselves if they help the other side take in one of their buddies. Think of it as Zombies but built as an objective mode first and not simply as means to generate overkills. Eventually you still have the last man standing scenario but leading up to it you’ll have a much more balanced game.

Hopefully, there will be offline mods for this!!! :smiley:

no, keep it the way it is, or we’ll be using squirt guns and water “grandes”

I love those ideas!

Free for all zombies, where it is just like normal free for all slayer, except when you kill someone, that player respawns onto your team.

As for a new game mode, I’d like a mode where everyone has a random bonus - like stronger shields, faster speed, larger motion sensor, etc. When you kill someone, you get all the bonuses they had - kind of like Juggernaut, except everyone is a Juggernaut with varying power levels.

I’d also like a mode where every team’s base has some hostages, trapped inside a “jail zone”. The objective is to free hostages by tagging one and escorting him back to your “free zone”, gaining you one new team member.

Another good mode would be a kind of “duel” mode where everyone spawns with the same loadout and weapons, Armor Abilities and vehicles (on larger maps) are scattered around, but people cannot kill each other outside of the “duel zone”, which is the only area where people can gain kills. This discourages camping, unfair advantages (fuel rod gun against pistol), and encourages what Halo CE’s multiplayer was all about - contests of pure skill.

I could never enter an custom infection lobby without that gametype. Loads of fun.

Two players are drivers and cannot be killed. They each drive a mongoose on a strait path. (Forged barriers if need be.)

The other two ride on the back with swords while the drivers go down the path in opposite directions and try to swing the sword at the right time to kill each other.

I don’t think I have ever played that gametype, or I just don’t remember do you have any reach custom gametypes similar?

Since I remember them saying you don’t need to hold the trigger to keep the explosive from exploding, I wonder if it can be used as a suicide bomb by planting that thing on your foot and just charge in after them. xD

They never remade a proper version in Reach. And if they did, it certainly never caught on. Fat Kid was pretty much a Halo 3 era exclusive I guess.
