I think Sprint would be perfect if full shields were required to use it.
It could be unlimited as long as your shield doesn’t drop. This allows people to rush in to battle, without being able to cowardly run away if they get spotted and shot due to lack of tactical awareness.
In conclusion, it would speed up combat without the crutch-factor.
NO SPRINT IS PERFECT HOW IT IS. it’s just the way the rest of reach was built that makes it seem so bloody aweful. which i agree it was in reach, but that doesnt mean it will be in 4. seriously people im sick of reading ideas for sprint that are extremely game breaking in my opinion. if you wanna change sprint thats cool but to me it needs to be practical. making it so you cant sprint unless you have full shields to me defeats one of the main purposes of sprint which is to get away. for example what if you just got done killing an enemy in a fire fight and your now one shot and you see another enemy about to shoot you. dont you think its justifiable for you to be able to run away from this new foe who has full shields. with out sprint your just screwed unless your lucky and that other player is gawd awefull and cant kill you while your one shot.
I have to disagree. There’s no reason that the player’s shields and their ability to run should be connected, it’s a cop out balance crutch and would show a real lack of ingenuity on 343s part. There are other, more sophisticated ways to go about it (I’ve always liked the idea of stopping power/damage drains sprint duration) but despite that I agree they should balance it better than in Reach.
It would make more sense to say that the only time you cant sprint is when you have no shields. Think of it as your suit malfunctioning. What a nice solution.
Or that if you take damage while sprinting you are dropped out, maybe not for shield damage, but if you take health damage, then definitely. Realistic in the sense that taking a bullet WILL slow you down. Possibly limit its effectiveness too if you are low on health- red bar level of health (whether or not it is shown) means you cant, yellow would be slower than full sprint, and blue of course, go crazy.
Yeah good idea. I hate it when losers run for their lives after you give them a beating and their sheilds are gone all they do is run away like cowards.
Sprint won’t be so bad… However, the only problem left is that Maps might be horrible… I mean, all the maps in Reach (except the remakes) were just… different from the ones in Halo 1-2. I hope we can still have some small fun maps like Guardian and The Pit still with sprint included.

Sprint itself ruins Halo. If they make it so that players, in certain situations, cannot use sprint than JUSTICE IS SERVED!
This is an interesting method of ‘fixing’ sprint in Halo 4; if it even needs fixing (we haven’t played it yet). However, there needs to be a more in-depth look at it in which there are ways to prevent worsening Sprint.
I honestly believe that Sprint doesn’t need any fixing. Although I did not like Sprint at first, I have to admit it is the most balanced armor ability in Halo: Reach; the only ‘exploit’ is being able to coward away during a battle, which is what Reach maps were perfect for (running away). I’m glad to see Sprint present in Halo 4, but I would also like a Classic Playlist in multiplayer, in which there is no Armor Abilities/Perks.
As for the campaign. I’m not sure how I’m going to feel when I sprint with Master Chief and use perks/other items 343i is implementing. Hopefully 343i can give it the feel of the Halo 3; destruction everywhere, and you still feel like you are the king of the world. Basically, as long as it’s entertaining(FUN), then I believe that it will definitely fit-in well with the Halo series.
