Full price for a gaming missing core feature??

If they want to release the game without coop they should cut the cost and release it as dlc instead

The consumer dictates the price. You know how some games seem to decrease in price rapidly and others hold their value?

I’ve been talking to A LOT of people the past few days and we are boycotting the release of this game. We aren’t buying or downloading it on launch and we are hoping that there will be enough of us by then to really crash launch night and get the point across. I’m spreading the word everywhere and even to friends that haven’t played Halo as much but are planning on getting this one. I’ve talked several people out of preorders and other Halo products already. The community wants it delayed and we are going to make sure we are heard so spread the word because we are tanking the player count.

Good look going against the millions of players who will pick up the game regardless.

I’m convincing all my friends to pre-install and play right away. Huge big team battle and we need the mandem to roll up in the hogs.

This.

While I don’t agree with you, I admire your conviction. Even so, unless your “A LOT of people” is in the tens of thousands at the very least, you are not going to make a dent in the total player count. And that isn’t taking into account all the people that will be playing Infinite via Game Pass. That’s not to discourage you from boycotting the game, you do you. Just be prepared for there not being any real impact.

Impact will happen eventually if each new halo continues in player drop like it has been. Some peeps are just ignorant saying it’ll have no impact for others to boycott. It’s not something that happens instantaneous and it takes time to peak, that’s how protesting works after all. People say microTs won’t end too but protesting them has gotten to where a lot of game publishers are actually in court over them👍 That stuff takes buildup is all

Can we stop discussing this at this point? This topic on all fronts has been absolutely beaten to death. Co-Op is not a core feature…it is a feature that has always been apart of the Halo Franchise but Co-Op is based on SP Campaign which is apart of the core features the game is built upon. Also $60 is the going rate of all AAA games…seeing how Halo is a AAA game, I doubt they are going to sell it for any cheaper…especially since it is supposed to last 10 years…which means DLC will probably be included along the way at times.

See, those things are slightly different. Regular population drop is the result of decreasing overall player interest rather than directed boycotts. You have to remember that the community here and on other Halo forums/boards is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the total player base of any Halo game. Halo 4’s population, for example, didn’t drop because of boycotts, it dropped because the overall MP experience wasn’t satisfactory for both old and new players (i.e. it wasn’t a directed thing).

As for Halo MTs, they are going to continue being a thing since people don’t really want to pay for map packs anymore. The lawsuits you mention are only possible for games with loot box mechanics where you can tie those in with anti-gambling laws. But MTs are beside the point here. Again, folks are free to boycott any product they want, I just don’t see that impacting a Halo game that is launching with a F2P multiplayer mode and campaign available in Game Pass.

One word, Gamepass

or if your Nintendo and just stick to that price indefinitely.

to the OP just wait for a sale or if you have gamepass go there the full price isn’t the be all of playing the game. It is though if you want to permanently own it though so I would suggest to wait for a sale.

Not all of the community wants it delayed so please don’t lump us in all together. You can tank the player count on launch but unless you aren’t going to play the game indefinitely then the player count is just going to rise again thus making the boycott pointless. If I were a betting man, I would also be willing to bet you’d be back on the forums after the launch complaining about being matched against those of us who would have been playing since launch.

Yea, right and if we checked your profile and your friends. I would bet my house and Porsche on you lot playing it DAY 1 at 00.00 hours.

I would bet your house and Porsche on that as well! But seriously can we stop flooding topics on the price of the game and missing launch features.

The release date is there, we know what’s missing and we know what they are working on adding in the first year. Make up your own mind, no one will judge. Not even if you’re still not sure on December 7th or can’t resist on December 8th.

Much respect for the players that fight for that release day coop experience but don’t talk yourself into not enjoying something you love that will be available on December 8th.

Yeah I mean without monetary incentive I don’t see how we could guarantee this gets added post launch. Especially after halo 5 didn’t have splitscreen

And that’s why it’s free to play and the incomplete campaign comes gratis with gamepass.

“Can people stop talking about the stuff they care about and just pretend everything is fine?”

This is what people care about.

How can you enjoy something if you’re not even able to access it? Not having the thing that is the reason people want to play ruins the experience for those swaths of people.

Probably because they don’t know the multiplayer is free to play.

Population dropped because Black Ops 2 ate its lunch. You know, the game that was back on the top ten sales charts 5 years after release for a dead console because of back compat? Halo 4 could have been the best Halo ever that reunited all the Halo fans; it was always gonna get buried by Black Ops 2. There is no universe in which Black Ops 2 doesn’t take the entire casual audience.

It is fine for most people. It’s important people’s opinions are heard but it’s also important 343 know everyone’s view and this isn’t one sided. I personally don’t like how negative people are being and the vibe it creates, but they are allowed to do so. I just try to avoid them where possible, but it is annoying when you’re in a topic about something completely unrelated and people start posting about it a bunch.

No it is a human rights violation and I won’t rest until I convince everybody to not have fun!!1

Play the multiplayer for free and/or the campaign on Game Pass. Either option will be less than “full price”

I mean this could technically also be said about the Series X when it launched, but those who bought it at launch when it basically had 0 exclusive games to its name were in a sense making an investment in the future of the console. You’re betting that it’s gonna be worth the money down the road, so you get in now in order to fund the future.

It’s kind of the same thing with Halo Infinite. You’re paying $60 not only for what’s there at launch, but also what could be there in the future. And the fact that we already know a lot about what’s coming down the line is enough for most people to make that investment now.
