The full cutscene involving red teams fight with Atriox has been posted recently on youtube. I will provide a link.
Looks darn good in my opinion.

Great cutscene! Thanks for the link man!
But why didn’t the two other spartans just shoot Atriox in the head… Would have been over so quickly

I am guessing Atriox has some sort of energy shield in his armor like the Brutes from Halo 3.
You could equally argue that two hits from a gravity hammer should be more than enough to kill a Spartan each.

Well, those are both really good points. But still, what bothers me is that the spartans didn’t even try
The Spartans in Halo Wars have shields as well don’t they? I know the units in game do but I can’t remember if this was ever represented in the cutscenes? Maybe Blur decided to not have the shields flare when they are shot. I remember it being very muted if non existent when the Arbiter gets shot in the chest, whereas in main game the whole body lights up.

I’m pretty sure the shields are in halo wars purely due to gameplay, They aren’t actually canon. The armor that the Spartans wear in the game didn’t have shielding implemented yet.

I think that they didn’t want to risk the severe injury of a second Spartan. Given the lack of awareness of their situation they probably wanted to have as many battle-ready Spartans as possible. Plus they probably didn’t want to risk hitting Douglas because of how much he was being swung around.
Spartans never die.
Just Wow…Cant wait for the release date.

Yeah, but hey, at least its fairly clear
This is amazing, Thank you!
Its interesting that they seem to be depicting the brutes more like they were in the halo novels (as in they were actually a great threat even to Spartans and could kill one fairly easily)
I’m very, very excited to play this game and see what the story is about! Thank you for sharing!!!
nice video

False, fairly shortly after losing sam because of this very issue elite shielding technology was reverse engineered for the original mission to take a prophet by the pillar of autumn. Besides, spartans at that point were a huge investment on the part of ONI.

Oh, my mistake.

Actually, after looking over the cutscene again I noticed that Atriox either threw some of their weapons far out of reach or stepped on them to prevent them from getting them

Around 2:25 of the video though. One of the spartans picks up his weapon, while the other drags his friend away. The spartan with the gun just aims at Atriox without firing a shot as they back away. This is what really bothers me.
