This option is completely necessary if the new Drop In system functions similarly to the one present in other games like Cod. Forcing players that are searching into games where there is a severe map control disadvantage or the game has nearly ended is dumb. Not everyone wants to search only to get a free loss within 10 seconds of joining.
Woah, nice idea. This’d be perfect for me. Personally, I think there should be like 4 playlists with join in session system. That includes Living Dead, maybe Grifball, ect.
I’d rather not have the join-in-progress addition at all… It doesn’t benefit losing teams and it doesn’t stop quitting. Useless ,really.
But if it must be done, yes. There should be an option to play in a fresh game, as well as making it so nobody can join during the game. I.E. Set playlists that have no join-in-progress, or the feature you proposed.
They should give us the option of either looking to search for a match and start a new game or to join games mid-session. That way everybody is happy, right?
Honestly I could care less as to who joins my game as long as I’m there from the start.

I concur for the most part. If someone joins in late, for me its a simple, “Congrats, you’ve been hot dropped into hell where you don’t know what your teammates are like, what the enemy plays like, and now you get to spawn in. Have fun.”
As long as I have an original set of teammates, I’m down for it. A prime example of why I like it was an invasion slayer match just last night. Immediately when the slayer match started? 3v6. My two teammates left bailed. Me? I lost the match, went negative, but it was funny watching the enemy trying to get away from each other when I would stick them off spawn and get a double kill because they couldn’t get away in a CQC environment. Even managed two triple kills on one sticky each.
My point being, if I had a drop in/out system, I could have had teammates to help me.

I’d like this very much, but honestly, who the hell is going to opt to join a match in-progress? Nobody. They’ll have to combine both options under one umbrella if they’re going to implement join in-progress at all.

I’m not sticking around if I join a 1v4 pubstomp. That’s not what I jumped into matchmaking for, and I can see a large number of people who never quit out of games before suddenly becoming frequent quitters if this is the case.
> Call me crazy but this made it sound exciting lol, but I agree with you guys I’d like to be in games from the start.

The ONLY people that the new JIP system caters to are the 12 yr old kids who have been sucking down red bulls all day and are tweaking out. People who can’t wait a whole minute to get into a game. I’m sorry but NOBODY has been asking for this function. Know why? Because most people here have played CoD. Most people here have had the lovely experience of insta losses and what not. So as stated, a function to disable this is essential. Let the little tards fly in and out of lobbies at 50000 mph, and let me enjoy the game as it should be enjoyed.
If they have a skill based matchmaking mode like arena: They should have no join-in-progress, and penalize people who do quit.
Other then that, if people have the option to disable join-in-progress, everyone will disable it.
Keep in mind that you can somewhat avoid join-in-progress by staying in the same lobby.
i was hoping they would do something like they try to match you up with people that are also searching and send the extra people that can’t make a full game into a GiP
I can’t seem to play more than one match in a row in the team slayer playlist without someone dropping out. Maybe if they made the map selection better you wouldn’t have people dropping out because they didn’t get their vote.
And on that note what if it was only drop in early in the game? I think that would help a lot for what I just mentioned.
As to being specific to the topic, it’s a nice idea but not many people would want to join games in progress.
