Halo 5 forge pc , modders have found full armor customization works and doesn’t impact performance.
So…
If you could make your own set of armor with parts already in game? (parts from halo 5)
(your custom set can only be edited once every few days.)
…
I would make:
*Shoulders: ranger
*Arms&legs: Mark 6 gen 1
*Chest: aviator (knife if possible)
*Helmet: dynast (reluctant closest option)
*Visor: secrets or clockwork.
One a week edit?
To make “rendering” easierm
This might help, but I bet armors wouldn’t show up right. (To others)
The game might not be made to display random sets properly…online…
Right Shoulder : Wrath
Left Shoulder : Noble
Arms : Vigilant
Legs : Vigilant
Chest : Wrath
Helmet : Indomitable
Visor : Clockwork
The only issue is that the colouring on all of those armours is radically different, making a really strange-looking combination. If only 343i was logical and made the colouring on all of their armours the same, instead of giving one armour super darker colours and the other a mode faded out scheme…

If the 360 could handle more complex armour customization without any issues with Halo Reach, there’s no reason that the Xbox One can’t do it too. 343i’s reason for not giving us armour customization is due to their crappy “artistic vision” for the game. They simply don’t want us to fully customize our armour. This has been stated by them before the release of the game.

Not the xb1, halo 5’s ui.
And that full customisation would mean hundreds of thousands of armor combos in h5.

So? They could easily design a UI that doesn’t suck (like the one we have in Reach), and there wouldn’t be an issue. And yeah, there would be millions of armour combinations, but why would that be a problem? Again, it was a good thing in Reach, since pretty much every player had a unique Spartan.
The option to clear armor patterns/ coloration.
Remove paint (yellow, white, cyan), and darkened areas.
Not custom, only primary/secondary color.
The rest is removed optionally so custom sets match.
If I had the choice I’d make playable elites.
Damn it too many options! I’d just mod an elite model over myself.
Whatever would look most like SPI honestly. I don’t think we have a chest peice that really fits it though, with all the straps.

You have just mentioned one of the biggest things that ticks me off about 343’s artistic direction in Halo 5. I could stomach the limited options and bad art design on many sets MUCH more if the armors consistently had matching Primary and Secondary color brightness (along with no unchangeable white or blue lines.)

Halo 3/Reach/4 would sometimes revert your armor back to whatever default was when someone else (and even yourself sometimes) is looking at your Spartan, it can for the most part handle it, however I doubt that it has anything to do with artistic views, ironically I believe they didn’t want to clutter the req pool with that many different cards (ironic because we have camo mongeese and hogs of every type) and who knows it could have an impact on performance, none of these modders have had full 16 player matches with various armor combos.

I know, right? I don’t use the Wrath armour, despite it being my favourite in the game, because any helmet that I use with it other than Wrath (which I don’t like quite as much) just doesn’t fit. It’s a real turn-off, visually…

But it would be so easy to use the current REQ pool and have more in-depth customization though. For example, if you got a REQ card for the Wrath armour set, you would then have the option to use the Wrath shoulders, arms, chest and legs. There’s no reason that you’d need to have a REQ card for each individual piece, they could easily be bunched up.
And again, there’s no reason why it should have an effect on performance. You’re still displaying the same amount of stuff, the stuff just looks different. Rendering a Spartan with two of the same shoulders or two different shoulders is the same thing. Maybe it would take a tiny bit extra memory to go out and reference the textures and whatnot for different pieces, but I feel like that wouldn’t take any noticeable amount of memory. Again, if the 360 could do it without any issues, should the Xbox One not be able to do the same?
Try and make an ODST armor

I totally agree with gaining access to an entire set after acquiring the body card, and to be honest I do wish they would do a customization update, however the 360 did not do it perfectly albeit was just mainly Halo 3 (it probably had more to do with Bungie’s **yoink net code) Reach and 4 handled it very well, I honestly don’t mind the req system because I don’t use real money and I still gain req points at a high pace and have unlocked everything (but emblems connected to SR) but knowing Microsoft they would more than likely chop the armor up into several cards and 343 might have done this (key word is might) to save us from the overflow.

Id look kinda like this
I’d make Felix’s armor or Maine’s armor, either or, but that’s about it.

Could you please post the link to your source? I’d love to see what it actually looks like.
*Shoulders: Wrath (Right shoulder) Indomitable (Left shoulder)
*Arms&legs: Mark 6 gen 1
*Chest: Vigilant
*Helmet: Mark IV
*Visor: Autumn
