Hello everyone. I am looking for some tips on how to get plasma pistol/pulse nade/fuel rod kills. These are the last three weapons I need for mastery. In particular I have only seen the fuel rod a handful of times and I really have no kills with it. It would help to know what a good class/maps and playlist to play to get fuel rod. If you have any advice I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
For Fuel Rod Cannon kills play BTB and choose Exile and Longbow. The Fuel Rod spawns as a random ordinance on both maps. On Exile it appears between the cave and the bridge near the Scorpion spawn. On Longbow it spawns in the cave on what I believe is the blue team’s side of the map. Camp out those locations and eventually you’ll get one.
I prefer to use the ammo perk so I can get upwards of 20 rounds with it. As far as strategy, use the Fuel Rod at CLOSE to MEDIUM range, never long range… The shots travel much faster the first few feet and then they “ignite” and move incredibly slow. At close range, if you get a body shot it is a one-hit-kill.
Never pump off more than two rounds at a time or else you’re wasting potential kills. You can even kill someone point blank if you have full shields and you won’t be killed.
I know it goes against all instincts with a high-explosive power weapon but close range is where you need to be.
KOTH is a good way to get pulse grenade kills. Wait until there’s some chaos happening in the hill and then toss one down.
Well, when i use pulse grenades, I use Grenadier so that I can have two at a time. They’re very useful for taking down shields. It counts as a point towards mastery even if you bring down an opponent’s shields, then cleaning up the kill with some other weapon.
The plasma pistol is the one that beats me, so I can’t help you.
As for the fuel rod, use it at close range, and NOT at long range, Unless you’re trying to shoot a snail, you won’t hit anything from long range.
I always did Regicide for my Pulse Grenades. I used the Storm Rifle as my primary and had Grenadier and Explosives on. I stripped sheilds with the SR and the initial blast from the PG usually got them. I also got a ton of kills from the grave just tossing one before i died.
People didnt seem to like it when I was doing this but it got the job done pretty quickly.
As for the Plasma Pistol… Well I had a few games of Regicide where a friend I was playing with and I only used the PP and a few other players caught on and soon there was mostly Plasma Pistol fights happeneing all game. I got 5-10 Kills each game for that but it hasnt happened since. So perseverance is going to be our friend on that commendation.
