Froze then problems started..

hey guys,
i want ant to know if anyone else noticed the following…

So two nights ago (live in eastern Canada) a friend who lives 5 minutes up the road and I and another friend in Alberta started to play warzone… We played to really fun games, after the second game we went into the post game window and instead of showing the three of us as a fire team or the 24 players that played that game it showed 60 gamer cards on the window then froze. After about 3 minutes it errored out saying there something along the lines there was a problem connecting to the network or servers… None of us could play a game together after that I could play slayer but not warzone and my friend can not play anything that lives 5 minutes up the road and still getting error messages about the servers… I have not tried and not sure about the Alberta guy but he is ticked he got the halo edition console for Christmas and was looking forward to this. Prior to this I have not had issues at all since launch… Another friend 10 minutes away has had nothing but problems since launch… Although he hard reset the router with isp tech support the day before yesterday and has played no problems what so ever since.

Has anyone noticed this before where you get 60 gamer cards then nothing but server issues after it freezes and errors out on you post game???

You could try to hard reset your xbox (hold down the power button the front of the console until it powers down) but it sounds like what your experiencing is just problems caused by the huge amount of people that are playing online right now after christmas. I have been having some party connection issues the past few nights when joining up with friends.

Two nights ago the servers were having pretty significant problems reported by pretty much everyone across the board. It was blamed on inclement weather in some parts of the US combined with a sudden influx of players after the Christmas holiday.
I noticed the exact same error that night (Northeastern US) with the added element that sometimes I’d be randomly added to a strange person’s fireteam after getting the error message. I found that the quickest fix was restarting Halo by opening another game and then coming back.
Fortunately, I didn’t have the problem last night and server complaints in general seem to have tapered off sharply, which leads me to believe that 343 has fixed whatever the issue was the other day and we are back to everything seeming to work most of the time for most people. I’m sure your buddy will have an easier time with his Halo Edition Console going forward, it was just one of those occasional hiccups with online gaming. Heck, I could tell you stories about server issues with Ultima Online or Battle.net in the late 90s for hours, things have improved dramatically since the old days and I’ve found Halo 5 to be generally reliable.

My friend who the halo edition console tried this morning still noticed the same problem… I have not tried…

Yes, I noticed that a couple nights ago as well and tweeted a pic to @halo. It happened more than once and every single time I had to quit build and come back in. I think the majority of these issues can be blamed on the server issues that have been on-going for a number of days now.

Does anyone know if 343 actually came out and said " we are having server problems"?

Yeah, they did. Somebody from 343 tweeted about it.
