Precursors were way more advanced than the forerunners, so could they have a built a composer like machine, and used it on themselves, in case the flood failed in it’s objective. They could be really powerful, but still have access to all their memories and abilities, unlike the Prometheans.
Sorry bud, but all Precursor artifacts were destroyed when the halos fired.
If that were precursor and their intention was to destroy, anything in viewing distance would be completely destroyed. That’s forerunner.
In the 2013 trailer the bird thing very clearly looked like a forerunner machine.
Thanks, I always get confused. BTW what is the difference between precursor and forerunner artifacts.
Its pretty much been confirmed that the bird thing is a guardian, and it looks exactly like other forerunner structures weve seen before.

Precursor artifacts don’t exist.

At least not in this galaxy. They were all destroyed when Halo was fired. Halo is the only thing that can destroy them.
As someone said, if that was a Precursor and it was hostile, there wouldn’t be a planet left.

if they don’t exist than they don’t exist in the milky way galaxy. There could still be surviving artifacts in deep space.
Flood and precursors are the same thing, and that sure as hell doesnt look like the flood to me.

The ancient humans found precursor ships that contained the flood spores. There’s always the possibility that there’s more ships, and not all precursors chose to be turned into the “dust”.

Precursors had tier 1 technology, they were far more advanced than forerunners. They had a nuero-physic capabilities, so I guess their tech had to be somewhat organic if the rings could destroy their artifacts in the milky way.

Tier 0… Tier 1 was the technological classification for the Forerunners.
that would leave a major plothole
Biggest flaw with the OP:

The Precursors and the Flood are the same thing. The Precursors became the Flood when the Forerunners were committing mass genocide against them.
- Precursors turn into dust to avoid being killed
- Humans find dust
- Humans deem dust safe and use it to domesticate wild animals and placate household pets
- Dust eventually reconstitutes and mutates inside animals, including Humans who were exposed
- Flood
Also, the people who said that all of the Precursor tech was destroyed by the Halo Array are 100% correct. Precursor technology was organic, not mechanical. They literally grew their technology. This is why the Didact was so butthurt in Halo 4. The Librarian imprisoned him in the Cryptum with access to the Domain (a Precursor data network) so that he could study and learn from his mistakes, and one day help Humanity rise to the Mantle. But when the Halo Array was fired, the Domain was destroyed because it was organic. So the Didact just had 100,000 years to fester in his silent hatred for Humanity and go even more mad.

No they are not.
Flood are a “sub division” of precursors in a way, not the true form. The precursors were a more peaceful race, but were unexpectedly attacked by the forerunners , the precursors were not prepared for a war so they lost.
The survivors decided to take revenge by turning themselves into the flood, however not all precursors were turned into the flood.
Moral of the story, flood are not the “true” precursors.
On a side note, Mr. big bird is probably a guardian sentinel.
The precursors are the flood, right?
