From your owned Xboxes which 1 is your favorite 1?
So far I’ve owned: Xbox / Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 Slim(Black) / Xbox One/Xbox One S
I’ve enjoyed them all but my Xbox One S has been my favorite 1. Although at times it’s
fun to drag out my original Xbox and play some retro games.
I think my very first Xbox 360 was my all time favorite console. I got one for Christmas 2005. My parents told me the story on how hard it was to grab one. They managed to grab an Xbox 360 just days before Christmas. A shipment of 100 came in at a local Best Buy and that was when they finally got one. I have so many memories with that Xbox and believe it or not, it NEVER got the red ring of death. It still runs to this day.
I like my original Xbox the best. It still works perfect after all these years. I’ve been through at least 4 360’s that got the red ring of death, and now my halo 4 edition one is starting to give me some trouble. My Xbox one only reads disks about a third of the time so it’s a real pain switching games, and it has a bad habit of crashing after an hour or two of gameplay
Probably the original since it was the simplest and then the 360. My current One seems to be getting laggier when scrolling through the menus so hopefully it isn’t dying.
Hmm, tough one. My favorite in the box yet, original special edition green console. My favorite out of the box, 360 Halo Reach because it looks like a piece of ONI equipment. The XB1 H5 is nice too…I just hate they used two colors like they did to divide it in half…looks choppy. H4 360 looks real nice, just hate the controllers crack easy. Hopping for a Halo special edition Xbox X!
I had older version 360 that had to get fixed after year and half, then the slim versions came out and i sold that one to a friend.I wanted to buy GOW 3 Xbox 360 and it was almost done and then in the shop they told me it was displayed there and working for couple weeks. And then i decided to buy cheaper normal black slim. After couple of months i found a guy was sellin Halo Reach Xbox 360 and it was used and with no original controllers but i bought it,and later i bought 2 Reach controllers online. But i mainly use the black one cause i wach out for my Reach beauty. But i can’t forgive myself for not buying GOW 3 360 when i had the chance, for me this is the best looking Xbox 360.
Both OG Xbox and the 360 were pretty great with very fun games. The Xbox one and the PS4 have been major letdowns this gen imo
My favorite is probably the OG Xbox though

Agreed. My original Xbox still runs smoothly to this day. It contains countless full games on its chip and runs my separate disc based games just as well. Crashes are rare, and usually only occur for very specific moments of specific games. I have a wide variety of incredibly fun games on there; types that just aren’t made anymore.
My Xbox One, on the other hand, has many issues; including its small HDD space, constant updates for games (that take ages to complete), profile issues (such as requiring passwords for emails, etc.) and bunch of stuff that could never have been a problem before. In addition, as someone who couldn’t care less about realistic graphics, 60fps or high resolution, I much prefer playing original Xbox games as they never have massive frame rate or loading issues that modern games have. Relating to that, have you played Burial at Sea Part 2 within the Bioshock Collection? Watch what happens when you die on an Xbox One. That type of behaviour never would have occurred before.
And finally, split-screen was the norm during the original Xbox days. That’s enough reason alone to prefer the original Xbox over anything current.
Have to be the Xbox One, the controller is smoother than the 360 and my hands work better with it. Also I got to play all the Halos on the MCC because it came with it, and the graphics are amazing.
I have Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox one.
My preferred console is Xbox 360 for number of reasons.
Since im a hybrid gamer the few things I preferred in console was that it could be “couch played” as in local splitscreen with easy settings. Some games in other consoles have that but there arent as many good games that have that (yet at least). And by good i mean what i personally like.
Other thing is that the games could be played from discs without need to install the whole game, this cant be done on Xbox one.
There is an offline mode for those more chill gaming sessions.
The controller feels good inXbox 360 and Xbox one. The first one had less ergonomic design for one.
So overall, Xbox 360 had number of pros for chill and “real” social gaming, as in in a group and not just online. It was simple but useful entertainment platform for games. One thing about it is the infamous overheating problem but personally hasnt happened to me just yet in over a decade. Guess im lucky. Though i also keep moderately good care of my electronics, like i still have original Xbox discs that i use that dont have scratches.
Current console generation does its job as platform for gaming but it has so many irrelevant features to it (though i limit this part to Xbox to limit the lenght of the post) that dont concern gaming,
its irritating that you have to be always online and you cant make profiles without email,
its annoying that the games need to be fully installed an so on.
The current gen consoles are more like cheap PCs than their predecessors while disregarding the features that they had better for certain gaming than PCs.
One of the few things about current gen consoles is that its pretty ready to go when turned on and games that are released to it have been designed for their specs.
Even though I dislike exclusives as concept, sadly they might be one of the things keeping current gen consoles alive.
So from best to worst:
1st, Xbox 360
(Close) 2nd, Xbox
3rd (by miles), Xbox One
Edit: this is from personal experience and my luck of getting sturdy Xbox 360. When thought as a whole as in containing all the sold Xboxes and the information i have heard of them, the original Xbox possibly is the best.
I only have an Xbox One, but it’s pretty much taken over as the console I play on the most. I don’t think I’ve turned on my Wii U in at least 2 months.
I loved my original xbox(the tray ended up getting stuck). But the xbox one s is awesome
The 360, it just happens to be more consumer friendly to me and that’s why it’s my favorite.
The UI isn’t a mess, it too had backwards compatible going for it, I think it also had far more interesting games to play compared to the XB1 and the OG XB, the controller was a nice fit, lastly the 360 didn’t have various games being 100+ GBs of data to download, the 360 was much more friendly when it came to downloading things. After that there’s then the extra features IE music, pictures, ect ect. I believe I had to wait a year and a half before the XB1 let people listen to music in the background, the snap feature was just obnoxious prior to that and I don’t recall the 360 having that issue and I legit can’t remember how the OG Xbox was when it came to music. Music alone makes me put the 360 over the rest

I feel the same way. I think my Xbox One S is the best console thus far. Xbox 360 was a really fun console and I made some memories on it but it also was sensitive and broke down on my multiple occasions. The Xbox is where it started for me though. So many good times and memories I will carry to the grave. Friendships that will last an eternity. Thank you for reading.

I would have to say my Xbox 360 Pro. The memories I have from playing Halo 3 with my friends night after night and the crazy -Yoink!- Zombies on World At War will forever define what I believe was the best gaming experience of my life!
