CoD also charged tons of money for said maps.
Halo doesn’t need 77 maps on launch, we need Forge so we can make our dreams come true.

“charges lots of money for said maps”
Ummm not for MW2019 and Cold War.
And MW19 had a ton of maps.
We arent defending 343. We are just trying to tell you these are unfair comparisons. The game should have had much more to offer, but sometimes you dont always get what you want. The point at least im trying to make is that there is no point coming here arguing about who is at fault for the game, or comparing it to other games. Instead of bullying your newborn child for having physical and or mental defects, you should raise them to be the best person they can. Just like how having children isnt just a matter of finding a person you love, halo infinite had so many more factors other than money and time that go into it that can alter the outcome.
Being the third one for me, it went right to the dumpster.
Who cares about a map count when in any given shooter people only like about 4 or 5 of the total maps?
At this point it doesn’t matter anymore. Drip feeding content is what 343 has planned, and even then MP is only a tiny portion of the missing content that should be in the game.
Seriously, they can’t even get their act together with just Co-Op. That alone should tell everyone how slow content will be dropped that I don’t doubt that it’ll take 3 years just to get a complete game at the pace 343 is working.
Hey, but don’t worry about it, 343 has you coved with their wonderful shop/BP that will save this game.
A 343 employee steps up and clears their throat:
MUH UI
Not gonna lie this is true af, but the maps we have now aren’t good
A comparison I like to make is that Bungie created literally the entirety of Destiny 2 in the same amount of time. Destiny 1 came out in 2014, released 4 expansions, the Destiny 1 engine was heavily modified in 2016 and released Destiny 2 in 2017, then literally everything up to Witch Queen, every expansion, every raid, every season, every armor piece, every map, every weapon, every cosmetic, everything, EVERYTHING, was developed by 2022, and tested before release, just a couple weeks after Infinite dropped with virtually nothing at all in the game.
Now picture if Bungie still owned Halo.
and 99% of them are awesome, have good flow, and are fun to play (i’m still on the ropes with piccadilly)
Fairly certain Infinite has a map larger than Fortnite’s.
People don’t agree with your specific angle, and without looking at people’s posting history, you drop that gem.
Yes, people are “defending” 343 right now because we don’t feel making that comparison is apt, at all.
Well you can go through all of our post histories to check that theory.
Do you know what you’re doing? Rather than talking your points in your own thread you’re attacking users who don’t share your point of view. Personal attacks based on rage and assumptions.
It’s a massive flaw in your reasonings.
You do realise you just proved me right?
It’s about math when you want it to be, and it’s not about math when you don’t want it to be.
A condition was now explained.
Which isn’t math, because, quality always trumps quantity.
Infinite wouldn’t be better with double, triple, quadruple or however many more maps you want to introduce, of the same or lower quality than the ones existing in Infinite at the moment, and having the same amount of support which exist at the moment.
You can’t quantify how many low quality maps a good map needs, because low quality turns players away. Good quality keeps them around, 20 bad quality maps doesn’t have any better chance of making the game “better” than if it had 10 bad quality ones.
And yet you continue with the quantity part.
And now we’re in on quality with some personal wishes. Then mentions of classic remakes, which are regarded to be of higher quality.
Pretty certain I explained that very concept to you already, a few times.
What was that you said?
Your opponents: “That’s really an unfair comparison, and I would much rather have better quality maps than having a metric ton of poor quality ones”
You: “oh you dorito crunching 343 defender, you understand nothing at all”.
So you think you’ll be able to navigate to my post history or should I link it to you?
That’s nice…
Putting in my 2 cents - not getting caught up in the nitty gritty details - I feel it comes down to the fact of: Quality vs Quantity (something that has been the case throughtout Halo’s history, in my opinion)
I understand the sentiment, and I personally thought that there would be more maps upon release (due to rumours and personal expectations), but after reading multiple threads highlighting that other Halo games have released with the same number of maps, I feel more contempt with where we are now
Another point regarding the comparison between Halo & Call Of Duty, Halo has much more freedom of movement, specifically verticality (jumping) whilst COD has a big emphasis on realistic movement; referring to a majority of COD games, not all of them
At the end of the day, both do have great maps, and it all comes down to personal opinion at the end of the day; everyone has their own specific tastes, likes and dislikes
I personally love the maps that we have in Infinite, and competitive gameplay reminds me of the Halo 3 days (in comparison to Halo 5’s competitive settings), so I am looking forward to seeing what maps are further released; including those that will be created in Forge
Another thing to note is that all of Halo 5’s BTB maps were all created in Forge, so to see BTB maps made by the developers themselves is both refreshing and exciting
I’ll help you out. Piccadilly sucks.
something tells me if they swapped to Unreal this wouldn’t have resulted in time wasted.
You have to retract the six years. I’m pretty sure Certain Affinity made the maps and 343 didn’t ask them to make the maps back in 2016.
They probably asked them - I giggle when I say this - when they first made the game engine and was able to set out what they wanted. My guess was about 2019-2020.
However as we don’t know the true ins and outs we can only guess theoretically. But from what I see this game only had about one or two years production time.
its really if-y, i mostly play domination in cod so its ether chaotic AF or ppl are running stealth plays around the edges
Comparing a franchise that has annual releases with very little changed besides window dressing between each game by several studios to a franchise made by one studio that includes building a new game engine during that time period. Yup, this comparison isn’t total trash at all.
Wait really??? How? What happened?
Not defending 343i or anything, there’s no excuse for the amount of content after such a long dev cycle, but to be fair cod has A LOT more devs/studios and as far as I’ve been told (I don’t play cod), pretty much all their maps are trash. I guess there’s a reason they’re able to crank them out like that. Still though, it’s absolutely pathetic this is what we got after 6 years. Imagine if they went ahead with the 2020 release lmao
