From frank o'connor himself

> “You, as a player, have the ability to customise all aspects of your Spartan warrior – and not just cosmetically. For the first time in a Halo title, you can actually change gameplay-impacting components. This allows you to customise load outs and gives you gameplay enhancements that can be unlocked through the progression system.”

While this is a concern for all folks out there frank had this to say

> People are nervous about any change. It’s one of the inherent tensions in making a sequel - and that terror sometimes impedes evolution or improvement. Of course, it sometimes prevents catastrophic change.
>
> The game needs to move forward to stay healthy and it needs to change to evolve. There are two things that you should bear in mind when thinking about that, if you’re conservative and calmness is all that’s required. One, is that the game is customizable enough to reduce additions back to a ground level, but two and more importantly, the changes are not simply being slapped on willy nilly. They’re carefully thought out, considered and balanced. And ones that don’t pass muster, you will never get to try.
>
> I can tell you bluntly that it “feels” 100% like Halo, without a shadow of a doubt. It’s an evolution, not a reset or a reimagining. There will be loads of new stuff to learn, get used to or reject, as with any Halo sequel, but it won’t feel alien (except, you know, the alien bits).

Seriously people do not just clutch onto one sentence of the whole statement read the whole thing before you spew your comments

And i would like to add im not nervous that was a quote by someone else Im excited from everything i have seen from 343 there working to so the right directions
and it still baffles me people are still quoting only the first 1/2 of the post. Smart people got to love them.

More change = less player

> More change = less player

pshh conservatives these days, amirite?

> More change = less player

not true

Hmm, I find it rather interesting. I don’t agree with the “Halo needs to evolve” theory, but this so rather interesting, but it depends on how it is pulled off. It could be great or fail greatly. Only time will tell.

Nice, another dev post from HaloGAF.

So long as everybody spawns on an equal level in some playlists we’re good.

With the direction that Halo is going in, yes.

you have no idea the direction halo is going it could change dramatically. you dont know. you just dont know.

Uh, he can look at reach and make that inference.

So you know exactly what direction its going in even with hardly info on what its like.? So you know how it will be pulled off? And you know that it will fail? I understand that you lose players but you also gain some. Some people like that change and the true fans will stay with the series till the end. Why are you acting like you know how it will be and that it will be bad?

as long as everyone spawns on equal ground ( no one person has any form of advantage over another) ill be fine with whatever changes.

no we wont, people who play longer will get better armors and will have advantages

for example:

player A wears a scout chest which allows him to reload faster

player B wears a Mark V chest which allows him to jump heigher

so wheres the equality hu?

i think it’ll be a nice evolution from previous halos

I assume they will be smart enough to realise that there’s plenty of players who want some playlists that don’t feature that crap.

halo can turn around and take another direction just like that. just cuz u didnt like 1 halo game doesnt meen its going to fail.

Good job, now read his post and then respond.

You have no idea what your talking about only what you personally believe is how it will work and seeing as there working hard on balancing and integrating these new mechanics mean it most likely will be nothing like you think or expect it to be

THIS IS NOT REACH

Bungie didn’t work at implementing new things very well they got lazy and slapped a game together and there plenty of evidence of this 343 is different they sound nothing like Bungie during reach development.

PEOPLE need to realize this 343 is NOT bungie they’re not being lazy they haven’t lost interest in the series and all of them are 100% fans of halo bungie during reach could care less sorry but this is true

He said the direction halo is taking, reach is a halo, good day.
