From a guy who disliked Halo 5 at launch.

I used to not like Halo 5 and its new mechanics. Everyone having all of these fancy thrusters and ADS seemed alien to me. Microtransactions? Oh crap!

However, lately, I’ve been playing Halo 5 more and more. I wanted to give this a chance, maybe I was missing something. As I’ve put far more time into it, the new mechanics have grown on me (I even maxed out my Spartan Charge Comms. :3) Warzone is a lot of fun. I can earn my stuff in game (albeit gradually with RNG.)

Now, I’m proud to say, even with its flaws, I find Halo 5 to be a lot of fun. I didn’t think the new abilities would be fun, but I like every one of them (although I think thruster pack shouldn’t be fully omnidirectional.)

If we can get a Halo: Reach/4-esque Sage green color (military green similar to Chief) and some new game modes, I’ll be all set. Glad to be a part of the 343 Community now (Bungie kind of died to me) and looking forward to the future of Halo!

For me, I orginally was really excited for Halo 5, then after watching pre-release gameplay videos, it kind of disappointed me. But when I got the game, pretty much all of the issues I had with the game disappeared.

So…you get used to it?

=)

I thought clamber could have been faster. I thought thruster should have been useable straight up from a standing jump…

But I really dig the mechanics of the game. Just not the implementation and presentation overall.

Warzone could have been soooooooo much more.

Honestly, I always thought the gun play was awesome. Adding skill based movement into classic arena style halo just worked for me. I still can’t get used to the abysmally small radar on FFA, though. Too many times, I get flanked when in a duel with someone else. Seriously, though, the game has so much potential. It just needs more variety in game modes and maps.

There is a method to that, though. It does encourage a player to try to master crouch-jumping with the other abilities as well. I’ve been able to pull it off a few times, it’s a great way to avoid getting flanked while you’re in the clamber animation. It only works if you’re high enough to where you want to go, however.

Other than that, though, to the OP, I enjoy most of these mechanics as well. The only thing I’m iffy on is Spartan Charge, but it’s nowhere near as cheap as my pet peeve with Armor Lock in Reach.

Great post.

The bland dlc is the only thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. No real btb maps!

I like the game a lot too, there’s just not enough of it yet. (And no I’m not referring to REQs, 343i, the fact that you’ve actually gone so far as to release pizza weapons is beyond silly- it’s a joke, and not even a funny one. I hope you aren’t forcing your people to fill some ridiculous REQ quota).

… kinda went off topic there

People CAN change…

didn’t mind it at first now i dont like it.

I wish I could have the fun everyone else is having. Since launch, the game has done nothing but make me lose more and more interest in the series. Halo 5 feels like the most random, inconsistent game in the series with the weakest story and the lowest amount of content. The only reason I still play the game is because it’s the newest Halo and I don’t wanna go back and just play all the old ones I’ve been playing for years. I love Halo 3, but I can only play so much of it before I’m ready to move on for good

You sir are a reasonable person. Here’s a cookie.:cookie:

I’m surprised that there isn’t an angry mob here to denounce you from their camp of Anti-Halo 5 and abilities.
