Not having friendly fire really makes the game a little frustrating as there is no repercussions for bad nade placements/explosive dmg. this really needs to come back.
agreed it would curtail some of the nade spam right now
I agree. The absence of friendly fire ruins the whole Halo dynamic. There is just explosions everywhere with rockets flying and grenade spamming with no repercussions.
I understand where you are coming from but I disagree. I am so tired of my teammates killing me because they want the weapon I have or because they just think it’s funny. I would rather have a bit of grenade spam then have teammates intentionally kill me every play session.

That’s not a good reason to not have Friendly Fire. Not having Friendly Fire creates an entirely different gameplay thought process.
there are too many scenarios that would become easy to defend/harder to attack it dilutes strategy because there is no punishment for throwing a grenade into your teammates, or shooting a rocket into a fight that your teammate is having and not doing damage to them. It’s too noob friendly, and would be a massive mistake if Friendly Fire is no longer.
Team killing is wrong in general but being affected by nades and other explosives has always been a part of the halo franchise. There would be no penalties for rushing in and having your teammates nade you on a push if you remove nades. So i respectfully disagree.
You can team kill with vehicles, I think either it isn’t coming or is a work in progress
I agree with you on the point of it changing the gameplay. I just prefer to deal with it instead of having to fight my enemies as well as my teammates. Hmm, what if they made it to where teammates can take down each other’s shields but couldn’t kill each other? Maybe that would be a plausible compromise. This way if a player grenaded an objective that has their teammates on it, their teammates would then be extremely vulnerable which might discourage such a tactic while still preventing teammates from intentionally killing teammates. I know teammates could still intentionally kill each other, but they could only do so INDIRECTLY. What ya’ll think?
A grenade or rocket should still do damage to friendlies. If I can damage myself with it, it should affect everyone. The explosion affecting friendlies could do less but still should have some sort of adverse effect. I also think we should only start with 1 grenade to limit the spam right at the beginning.
Already seen in CTF on Behemoth team mates being pushed accross the map with the ghost :-/
Friendly fire should be on,
I agree it’s always been in the game and I think there should be repercussions for bad nades. I also think a betrayal should instantly kill the player that done it as well to curb the gun stealing. That’s never really happened to me but makes since.
I agree with OP. No friendly fire seems like it would really hurt the competitive side of Halo. I think there are better ways to deal with intentional team killing.
I made this topic about solution to keep friendly fire and avoid betray:
