Please consider removing friendly fire. All it does is cause -Yoinks!- to betray for power weapons and vehicles.

friendly fire is epic, it wouldn’t feel right without it

Friendly Fire (regardless of the kind of people who betray as a griefing tactic) is necessarg and has as I know, always been in all of the Halo Multiplayer. It teaches players to be aware of their surroundings.
Grenade Spam would pretty much be twice if not thrice as bad if Friendly Fire was turned off all Matchmaking Playlists.
It’s already been discussed in many other threads (Clicky!) but I suppose I’ll make my argument here as well!
I don’t think friendly fire should be removed. As much as I hate teammates that betray for power weapons and other stupid reasons, I feel that friendly fire has been a staple of Halo gameplay since day one, so why remove it? It’s also something that I feel could be exploited. For instance, people would launch teammates without rhyme or reason in Grifball (which is possible right now, you just run the risk of killing your teammate) which isn’t a good situation, in my opinion.
ETA - on my screen it’s showing up white so i changed the link color, sorry!
Well, the only counter i have is that the childish gamers were not such -Yoinks!- back in the day. also i was not there as much to remember, but was there even a wraith to -Yoink- about in halo? if so then i just dont belong here, if not, -Yoink- Reach.
I think I could dig it, though it should stay in Grifball.
Ok, since I can’t find a way contact anyone at 343 directly about this -Yoink- friendly fire system I’m getting a little pissed. It either needs to be able to differentiate between accidental and purposeful, or taken out completely. It’s entirely unnecessary and useless because 9/10 those who teamkill on purpose don’t get kicked while the ones who do it on accident do get kicked. The whole algorithm for this friendly fire system is 100% broken. I insist on speaking to someone about this. If there absolutely HAS to be friendly fire at least make a separate set of game modes like Call of Duty’s “normal” and “hardened” game modes. Literally every game that I am doing well in someone always walks in front of me so that I will teamkill them and they can kick me, and then I end up getting kicked not receiving any rewards.

Bumping a 7 year old thread is not the way to do that.
You are welcome to make a new, constructive, thread but I wouldn’t expect anyone to come in so you can speak to them personally. Friendly fire is a necessary evil in matchmaking however it is disabled in some modes like Warzone.
