Personally, I like friendly fire because it limits the opposing team’s grenade spam. Many people talk about the skill gap in traditional halo but I see so little mention of friendly fire. Anyone can chunk a plethora of grenades into the middle of a gunfight and snag a kill or two whilst the enemy is busy/distracted trying to defend themselves. But a well placed grenade at the risk of losing a point or increasing the time to re-spawn takes a bold player to either execute or try to put some shots on the enemy instead.
I sincerely hope that 343 puts friendly fire back into the game, and at least make it a setting in ranked playlists.
Pffft, I never think twice about chucking a grenade. If my ally is in a situation where they are engaging the enemy I’m chucking explosives at in melee, it’s their own fault.
I agree, friendly fire should be on. Makes people more wary about getting blown up by teammates.
Oh please no. All that happens with friendly fire is people troll and team kill, or someone accidentally kills one of their own men and then they get kicked from the game.
I agree!!! Friendly fire makes you feel more involved with your team and in my opinion makes the game better. Halo 4 it felt like you were running around with ghosts on your team because you couldn’t interact with them in any meaningful way and imo hurt the overall experience. It’s the small things that make Halo and friendly fire, and an announcer that doesn’t explain how to play team slayer would be a good start.

> Friendly Fire is in the game. In various pieces of gameplay, You can hear Spartan Teammates call out things like;
>
> “Stop it”
> “I’m on your side”
> “Same Team”
> “Watch your Fire!”
> “Watch your grenades!”
>
> So, Yeah. Seems like Friendly Fire is in the game.
I agree completely, friendly fire should be enabled.
A side note though, there should be a system in place to detect how much damage a teamate does to the rest of the team. If the friendly damage they deal exceeds a certain amount (i.e. 5+ full shields), a vote should become available to the team during their respawn phase which lets them choose to keep that player in the game or to kick them out. Majority vote will either kick the player from the game or keep them present. This should combat abusers of the friendly fire system.

There should certainly be some system to distinguish whether a player makes a mistake or is simply being a nuisance. Maybe a one betrayal rule, Second time gets the option to kick, also adding the 100% damage to friendlies gets the option to kick. Idk
