I think the ability to fire at your own team mates should be removed. In grifball I’ve been kicked out for accidentally killing my own teammate in an attempt to kill the opponent

I think in some game modes like grifball it should be removed because its close quarters combat with a grav hammer. But it should stay in things like team arena. Yes its close quarters combat but the only thing that kills you most of the time is falling off the map and enemy’s. Sometimes people on your team kill you but they don’t mean it.

Friendly Fire in Grifball dates back to the game’s origins in Halo 3, when players would pick up the ball for its shield boost, refusing to actually score the darn thing. 343i apparently still believes that ball spamming is still popular enough to justify keeping friendly fire in Grifball.

I think they’re wrong, but they’re not going to change anything at this point. Maybe in Halo 6, but probably not - they seem to have a sick love for players being booted over accidental teamkills.

I totally agree with you. There should be no friendly fire in social game modes, all it does there is complicate things and generally make the game a pain in the -Yoink- from time to time.

If you communicate or run with a team, you won’t have this problem. So get a team and a mic. Problem solved.
