Friendly Fire, the Most Destructive Weapon - H5

We all know it. We all despise it. Yes, I am talking about Friendly Fire. Now, imagine you’re in a game of Ranked Arena Slayer… And you have a 15-0 so far. You decide you’re gonna get a perfection this match. But suspicion arises when your teammates see that you have no deaths and get jealous. So what’s their only option? That’s right, they’ll team kill you because you’re better than them! Now this has happened to me countless times! It really needs to change… In the older Halos it was more avoidable because they couldn’t just thrust-slide over to you. It’s so stupid! What’s the point of Friendly Fire? Just -Yoinking!- turn it off!
Unity

I’ve teamkilled plenty of people who were going to get perfections. Y’know why? Because they hit 15 kills and then sit in a corner. PTFO. Although you probably were, teamkilling does suck.

Well no, I actually try. There is no fun in sitting in a corner. I’m talking, I’ll be in mid fight, and when my shields are down after I win, my teammates go for the kill. I don’t sit in corners, there’s no fun to it. But even then, if you’re sitting in a corner, an enemy will find you eventually.

Bad apples are bad apples.

Friendly fire must stay in ranked play. Being strategic with your grenades/shots and the threat of accidentally killing your teammates is all part of it.

Someone hitting 15 kills and 0 deaths is a great asset for your team considering they did not contribute any kills to the other team and provided a large chunk of the required kills for a win. True, they should not camp because it’s avoiding playing the game and reduces the amount of total damage dealt, but teamkilling 15-0 players makes you look bad.

I do not like friendly fire either. I have been in matches where my teammates kept shooting at me, but without killing me so it doesn’t count as a betrayal. Even without friendly fire, I am sure they will find other ways to be annoying.

Odd choice of words for something that many players tend to view as a core part of Halo’s traditional gameplay.

Talk about it mate!

I’ve lost countless chances of finally earning a perfection at the last moments in a match because I opt to get stupid aggressive instead of retreating, hiding, and protecting myself to the end of the match. Needless to say I have some regrets.

I hate friendly fire all of a sudden your doing good about to get another kill then you get betrayed I hate this friendly fire doesn’t even help with nothing

I agree with you 100% it’s unnecessary.

“Now, imagine you’re in a game of Ranked Arena Slayer… And you have a 15-0 so far. You decide you’re gonna get a perfection this match.”…you’re playing with 3 team mates you met and decided to previous have invited them to a party. You tell them you’re 15-0. They say hell yea. We got you. They help you get perfection.

True story, this happened to me not that long ago. I replied to a dude on here looking for people to play with. I was literally minutes away from Uninstalling the game when he sent me an invite. Then he invited his friends. Instantly changed everything about how I felt playing the game AND they insisted to help me get 20 - 0 when I was like “nah guys its cool I don’t even care about that!”

These threads pop up over and over. It’s a team game and you’re playing alone…what do you expect? Those random aren’t pre programed bots…they’re real people and sometimes they either are frustrated how bad their nights going, or simply don’t care.

So here’s 3 options.

  • do the obvious step to avoid this problem altogether. (Team mates)
  • play FFA
  • don’t play the game when no one is able to play with you.

And I really mean that last one. I’ve Instantly regret going on alone before. Solo Q sounds like a good playlist…nope. hardly ever goes well. I mean idc if my kdr goes down. I don’t even care about how high my rank goes. I care about having fun. The game just hardly is ever fun when I play alone, and if anything ends up making me feel like I should no longer play it.

I agree, but mate, you have hella nice teammates. I guess I should only play when friends are on too.

No, but they made sure the enemy would kill me with 1 or 2 shots.

friendly fire is on in ranked arena, as it should be. its off in social and warzone. i don’t see a problem with it.

It’s off in social? I think it should be the other way around… And how could you not see a problem with it? Killing your teammates must be fun lol.
