its true its not a easy way to do that.
but its still a old move to do in both betraying your team mate’s or make some kills.
the easy way is and always is the betray by melee from your own team mate.
and since there have remove that option to do its only hard for then to betray there team mate’s still.
and with the friendly fire on you make the easy option available again for then.
and banning then has compleet no use at all.
since the multiplayer is F2P has the banning system no use at all since its super easy to make a new account and do it again.
You do know that you can change/hide your MAC Adress for 3rd parties (like game devs), right? Earlier you might need some knowledge to spoof or hide it, but modern drivers/providers even allow you to do it or do it automatically (especially when you use WiFi).
Microsoft (who owns 343) knows that very well, because it’s own Windows does that automatically since Windows10 came out.
then why are big companys like activision not doing that in there own cod game’s in the first place since there maybe know all its easy to use a fake one’s also and chance it.
then here is my question for you also.
if banning the MC adress is easy in your eye’s why is there still a big cheating problem in the gaming world if something like that is a good solution?
and not forget also that now a day’s people are not that stupid any more and are much smarter then the developers are with things like this.
its the same with the cheating problem game’s now a day’s have since the one’s that make the cheating software are smarter then the developers are with there anti cheat software.
so its easy to make software’s that use fake IP’s and MAC adress now a day’s.
I have mixed feelings. I think yes FF and player collision should always be on.
But realistically I know it’s a terrible idea because trolling and griefing is such a big problem in every game.
Even now with the limited friendly collision with vehicles teammates grief trying to push you over ledges and what have you. And if they didn’t actually get the teamkill counted against them then there’s no way to actively punish them in a match.
And trolls are also smart enough to know they can just down your shields at an opportune moment to ensure you lose an engagement without outright killing you themselves.
So unfortunately, I want FF and player collision to remain off, as well as making it more difficult for friendly vehicles to roadkill and push you around.
There’s multiple reasons why 343 probably won’t turn on Friendly Fire for Social Matchmaking and turn off player collision. The only main reasons that I can think of is
There are to many players that will betray others for no reason. Most of the Reports for Halo are probably from players that betray. So with that in mind turning it off in Social Matchmaking is the right choice.
Most of the maps in Halo Infinite are designed around player collision being turned off. So turning it back on will create all types of problems.
Just because something was a certain way in the past doesn’t mean it should stay like that in the future. It may have worked for you but that doesn’t mean it work for everyone else.
If they’ve started doing that then it’s probably not really feasible.
On the other hand, that’s Windows 10/11 and not Xbox, so depends on wether or not Xbox does it.
Additionally, could be easy, but who’d have the patience to switch MAC address in addition to creating a new account? The MAC address change would be yet another hinder they’d need to get over to get online again.
And that’s in addition to any IP monitoring they could do, extra behavior checks on new accounts.
I haven’t been to their design meetings.
Do you think a lack of it is a sign of “being too difficult”?
Technical prowess isn’t the younger generation’s forte.
You asked who would monitor the MAC address and talked about hiring more people.
Massive misunderstanding of how any of it works.
Developers make a system to protect from a massive amount of angles, they can’t however cover everything with it.
Cheat developers test and test and test to find entrances they can abuse.
How often?
That’s a lack of a system they can implement later, not an inability to ever implement the needed system.
Detect friendly damage based on weapons.
How long do they have patience for it?
Examples?
Collision and Friendly Fire has nothing to do with it having worked before and “not anymore”.
It’s a more shallow game as it is now, more depth is wanted.
Treat the cause and not the symptom.
you know that developers need month’s and month’s to make a update for the anti cheating software and that hackers that make the cheating software need only a few weeks to bypass it.
if you have done some research how cheater software builders work you understand its a losing fight.
i have play a lot of MMORPG game’s that have a wall hack problems and spam bots problem.
you know that after each update the developers do its only take less then 1 week before there are all back since there have bypass the new securety update from the developers.
and that is only wasting a lot of money for it and you need to hiring a lot off people and i think nobody is going to do that type work in the first place since its a 24/7 job with a lot off teams there need to switch each time.
since there cant work 24/7 without rest.
Allright, how do you think an automated ban system works?
Do you think there’s a team of, X amount of people who sit at computers checking player activity on a leaderboard for Quits for instance? When a player tallies up a certain amount of Quits a person is tasked with investigating how often and during which circumstances those players quit? And then make a judgement on wether or not to dish out a ban?
you not have to be in the design meetings at all to know it why developer companys like activision are not doing it since there know really good knows how the hacking world works.
and each player knows that also good.
it has compleet notting to do with manpower at all.
its about how smart the hackers are and know really good where there need to find the right file’s for the software that check’s the MAC aderes.
you know its super easy to make fast new accounts to dish out any bann.
like i told before.
banning accounts on a F2P game is not going to have any effect at all.
you bann the troll’s account for killing there own team mate’s to much there make a new account and there do it again and it will only repeat one after a other in a loop that never ends.
like some people have told all on other threads.
make the multiplayer F2P only brings more and more problems there not cant be fix at all its give’s only more problems then doing good.
A larger community tackling a task from different angles have a higher chance of making breakthroughs quicker than a smaller community.
As well as a smaller community have issues thinking of every single point of interest and finding all the weaknesses.
Smart help sure, but that’s not always the only contributor.
Explain to me how you think a Ban functions when it’s given.
And I’ve asked you several times how much patience you think people have to continue doing that only to get into a game to grief.
Second, how big do you think the community who has that patience is?
Because you clearly make it seem like there’s a massive brigade of 25-50% of the community just itching to start massacring team mates and continue doing so perpetually by making new accounts again and again and again.
You go play five matches, create a new account, play five matches with that, make a new account, and repeat that process for a day and see how long you can last.
it has compleet notting to do at all if a company is small or large at all.
its about the way there are doing it that counts.
if you wane bann toxic people from you game then its only working good and has a 100% effect is the game is not F2P at all.
since developer company’s like 343 have the power to bann there compleet game from there server.
do you not have read the story about a MW2 2022 player that got a prem game bann on both it copy’s from the game.
since activision has block his 2 copy’s for good.
since each copy from the game has there own code that nobody cant chance at all so blocking the compleet game from the multiplayer is the best effect way developers can do if the game is not F2P at all.
in halo infinite any type bann from the multiplayer is worthless and has ZERO effect at all since its F2P.
you really need study the good effect’s and bad/worst effect’s from the F2P formule since a lot off people that are against the F2P formule have done that and know the worst/bad effect’s from it,
how many time’s i need to tell you the same thing again and again each time that you can ask me to play the multiplayer when you know my answer about it all why i not play the mutliplayer in halo infinite in the first place.
Dig out the last time I asked you to play multiplayer.
But, anything to avoid testing things right?
Doesn’t have to be Infinite, you can do any game.
Heck, do that once an hour while playing a singleplayer game, see how long you can do it before you’re bored of it.
then please explane why bungie with destiny 2 is doing much better then a company like EA or activision with there game’s.
and to let you know this is something a lot off players know what the big diffrend is between a small company and a big company and what a small company is doing better then a big company.
and if you wane i can explane it super easy for you what the diffrend is between big and small company’s.
15 years for sure.
i have play a lot off MMORPG game’s on the pc that are F2P and also on the xbox console.
so i know a lot off the worst hell effect’s the F2P formule has to offer.
then here is a golden super tip i going to give you.
look the next time on the player service records is he has any stats about the multiplayer or the game at all.
if you look good i have play only 1 singel match in the multiplayer from halo infinite.
so how easy is it not to look for it before asking this type questions really.
you really think i going to play a other game to test it out.
do you really think and then we go back like the multiplayer question.
that i am going to make each hour a new xbox live account and need to make also a new outlook e-mail aderes for it.
and most off all most game’s have there own system in the first place.
in MMORPG game’s you have class slots so that you can make 5 or 10 chars on 1 account.
some game’s have diffrend save file’s like halo infinite campaign mode so make a new save file and you play from the start.
and here is something new for you since you are no MMORPG player at all.
its basic normal that each MMORPG player owns 2 or more accounts in some game’s.
To those that post multiple people in one post.
If you want to quote me on something do it for me and me alone.
If tag me in a group with others attached to it like I see above I’m not going to respond to it.
