Can someone please clarify this. Is friendly fire turned off in Halo 4 War Games? Please god no. I understand that it’s nice to not be betrayed for a power weapon but if my team goes into a small room and I fire a rocket we should ALL die. So… Is friendly fire off or is 343i doing a better job against true betrayals?

Infinity slayer FF is OFF, Slayer Pro and other “classic” gemetypes, it is turned on
EDIT: In the FF ON gemetypes, there is a “smart” betrayal system, which can see if something was an accident or not

Sad face…
FF is off true but you still can hurt the vehicles you friendlies have. i had a guy shooting at me cause i had the mantis and he wanted to ride in it

Well there’s another reason for me to stay out of Infinity Slayer.
Thanks for clarifying this is great news. One of the things i hate the most is people trolling you and killing you for power weapons. Glad its off in Infinity Slayer.

I always loved killing my cousin for his shotty. I never betrayed people I didn’t know. PREORDER CANCELED. Lol kidding, I -Yoinking!- hate people who -Yoink- about everything. Halo 4 will be the best Halo.

Well 343, this you could have done better.

If it’s “smart” I like that. I just want it to be realistic. If someone betrayed be in Reach on purpose I booted him but if it was a CQC rocket/nade fight I didn’t care.
Won’t people be rewarded for certain dumb actions?
e.g throwing grenades into a CQB between a friend an a foe. Or what if I stick my buddy and he sprints into the enemy?
For me this is a great change. I felt FF was much more of a con than a pro.
It’s just like it always was. Yesterday, my teammate tried betraying me for getting in the Ghost before him, and I splattered the sh*t out of him.
This is a terrible change. I mean, it does suck when you get the occasional idiot that tries to screw with your gaming experience. But I want the feel of friend or foe in Infinity Slayer. I don’t like that I could hit my ally with a rocket to kill someone near him…

I have to agree. This will just make the game a nade/rocket fest.
melee/gunfire damage shouldn’t cause damage, but explosive/vehicular damage should.

Yep now you don’t need to consider shooting rockets or other explosives into a room filled with teammates and enemies because there is no longer any consequence for doing that.
Most people fail to realize that the power weapons with large splash damage were balanced out with the fact that they had friendly fire with them. This was so they couldn’t just be spammed whenever someone felt the need to.
I love how 343i listened to us by turning off betrayals, and yet people are still complaining. There are many more benefits compared to cons for having ff turned off.
Play salyer pro, ding! problem solved!
