I can’t stand the friendly fire in social. Every time I try to have a good time I’m getting splattered by teammates or killed because I have a weapon one of my teammates wanted, and I know what you’re going to say. [Oh well just report them and let Xbox handle it.] Well no. This happens to me in almost every match I’m in. Social games is suppose to be for players to take a break from competitive & ranked matches and those who are new, and that’s impossible with friendly fire. Anyway this is what I think. I’m not trying to sound annoying or anything.
It was a disaster when they did this in Halo 4. There were multiple game types that had FF turned off and it caused too much confusion and issues. Warzone does have it turned off but you can still get splattered. I find getting killed for weapons or run over finds very seldom.

Do it back, they will learn. Or stand in the way of every shot they take, that also seems to annoy team killers.

I don’t understand that either. If people want the weapon you have they can just go to the Req Station. But of course they aren’t going to do that.
As much as I HATE getting run over by teammates, I can’t imagine 343 would change that as people would start exploiting it to boost players out of the map etc, like I’ve seen some people do with the wraith on one of the BTB maps.

In a match I played today someone on my team killed another teammate and stared to -Yoink!- them. So I splattered them. They were also the same teammate that tried to kill me for my Plasma Caster. After that they stopped team killing. But there will always be that one player who gets on everyone’s nerves.

I try to evade Wraiths even if they are controlled by my teammates for that same reason. The thing that gets me the most is the stupid Scout Hogs.
I hate it when they melee me to get my shields down.
I think they just need to make booting teammates for betraying easier. Knock it down to 2 betrayals before the booting option becomes available instead of 3.
Couldn’t agree more !!!
This thread is a bit old but it’s not that old; this is why I can’t stand playing in social arena. There’s no reason for there to ever be team killing in a shooter game. I hate getting booted from a social game with three of my buddies just because the other idiots on our team walked into a rocket launcher shot or stepped in front of me while I was firing at someone and they happened to have no shields. The grenade spam also causes this to be an issue. They just need to turn this off across the board; it shouldn’t be present in matchmaking at all.
Nerf damage by 50%
If you couldn’t get splattered?
0% damage makes splatters throw you across the map. (Die anyways)
I don’t understand why it’s even a thing, having friendly fire on. It just doesn’t make sense to me. It sucks when you get a power weapon first but a teammate is salty and betrays you for it. I don’t see why turning off friendly fire in the game would be such a big deal.

Nerfing damage doesn’t save you from getting kicked when the person has no shields to begin with. There’s just no need for friendly fire in social at all. Having to regroup with my squad cause the games settings are stupid is obnoxious.
I remember when Halo 4 first came out, friendly fire was, for the most part, off. It was really nice not getting shot up by six year old teammates. But friendly fire to vehicles was still on. So when my buddy and I would climb in the gauss 'hog (which was way OP at the time), it was not unusual for us to be greeted by with grenades by those same entitled six year olds. It was thoroughly satisfying when they did eventually turn friendly fire off against vehicles. They’d still try to grenade us, but nothing would happen, then we’d drive off a gain a few running riot metals, an untouchable here and there, and of course win the game for our team.
Yes, friendly fire sucks. Why empower the immature entitled six year olds?

So you woudnt mind getting hit, surviving…
Than flying out of the map and die that way?
Try it in a custom game, make your self invincible and have someone hit you. (Warthog)
People would then send their teammates flying across the map
Idk it’s part of the halo experience. Kinda weird to say I’d hate it if they took it out. Mostly when I play with my buddies and we are screwing around

Shallower gameplay.
Why should gameplay be neutered due to the off-chance that there are egotistical troll players, which you can avoid playing with non-theless.

Removing friendly fire won’t deal with the attitude which can still be expressed in other ways.
you’ll still have those same six year olds on the team doing their best to act selfishly in other ways.
Halo 4 was certainly not free of trolling team mates, and neither was WZ during the time I played it more frequently.
All at the expense of the depth of the gameplay. You can choose who to play with, you do that before you go into a match.
However if you do not, then the game will find suitable players for you.
Which kind of raises a question for me.
I’d assume search criterias are basically these, connectivity and skill range, with different strictness to them. The looser the strictness the faster you’ll find a game.
If you’re matching with six-year old entitled brats stealing all your crap, where on the skill axis are they, and subsequently you as you get matched with these, what I assume are players who cost you the matches?
I’d assume you’re in the so called “ELO-hell” for some reason, which can be difficult to escape, and thus you’d need help from others getting out, because you certainly do not belong there, right?

My dude, have you ever been annoyed with someone betraying for a power weapon. Or the off chance that some egotistical troll teammate repeatedly kills you because he can since friendly fire is on. Have you ever been close to getting a perfection in a match but your teammates get bored and start betraying you, if not, well I have and it’s really annoying. This couldn’t happen to me or other people if friendly fire was just simply turned off. Also avoiding is not easy sometimes because they can follow you around!
