Hi,
Only just bought the game and its been great up until the ‘Under the dark’ level. It just keeps crashing after about 2-5 mins.
Games just pauses, with sound in background, only way out is to try and hop to desktop and end it or ctrl-alt-del out.
Game purchased through windows app store so assume it auto updates?
Windows 10 (up to date)
ATI 7970 (up to date)
Help, games now unusable.

Tried both and still doesn’t work, if I just leave the mission running and dont even move it crashed in a few mins.

Thanks for the information. It’s strange that this issue would only affect one mission. There could be a corruption issue with that mission in particular that could cause it to crash after a few minutes. I know it’s a big step, but the only solution may be to delete and reinstall the game. Sadly, I can’t think of any other solutions that might work.

Seems to be related to the part of the mission where you first start fighting, up until then its fine.
Any idea if the save game files will be lost?

I’m fairly certain that the save game files would be maintained in the cloud saves that allow for cross-progression, provided you had access to the internet while playing the game. However, I do know that Halo Wars 2 has had a questionable reputation for maintaining saved files, even when just restarting the game. I don’t think it will delete your saves, but if it did delete files, the worst thing it would do is make you restart the Campaign and maybe reset the collectibles that the game thinks you unlocked. Everything else should be stored on the servers (i.e. Matchmaking rank and level and all Service Record stats) and will not be affected by deleting the game.
As for your description of the problem, that very well could be a corruption issue. I remember that one of the maps in the game Overwatch would never load for me on my Xbox One, so I completely reinstalled the game. I’ve not had any issues since, so I think that there may have been a similar corruption.
Sorry that I can’t think of another solution. If I do, I’ll be sure to share it, but I think that reinstalling may be the surest way to fix it.

Well.
I uninstalled the game.
Reinstalled the game.
And it crashed at the same point every time.
I was just about to give up when i tried avoiding all conflict and aiming for the first main checkpoint/goal then once done going back to the part that crashed and bugger be its now working fine.
