I was just wondering, ive been wanting to persue a field as a video game concept artist, I lack programming skills and dont have the resources to go to college in this time in my life. So i was just wondering what steps i have to go through and what kind of resources i need to provide to get to be a concept artist, (freelance or paid) Id like to get my work noticed but since i do have a stable job, a paid position isnt necessary, just leg in the door so to speak.
I started Doing anime work when i was 10 and havent really persued it, animation was my original inspiration, So much so that me and my wife are working on an ongoing manga that we havent publicated yet.
Working on forged maps for a while is a nice outlet for my creativity and now i know that i would love to do this professionally. Even if its conceptional art work, and design.
Any information as to how to get started, and necessary portfoilio requirements would be handy to know so i can compile my work appropriately. Any ideas?
