I used to loath that mildly overpowered weapon but buy being forced to use it to be somewhat competetive now I have grown to love it.Now it feels like a Spartans best friend and I dont want to see it get hurt.
Oh…you’re one of them…Trust me when I tell you Halo would be better off if that weapon was never even introduced in Halo Reach. Why it is even in Halo 4 makes no sense based on the timeline of the lore. The BR promotes much more balanced competitive play. The DMR NEEDS to balanced better long range…since its apparently here to stay for some odd reason

It does too make sense in lore. Jeese, I can tell nobody even takes the time to look up this stuff before they post.
From a previous thread:
> The M392 DMR (in Halo: Reach) was used by the UNSC Army, which was the prominant branch in that game (hence why most of the weapons were different variants from the rest of the Halo games which featured the UNSC Marine Corps’ arsenal). Now in Halo 4, the M395 DMR (a different variant) was adopted by all branches of the UNSC, which is why it returns.

Please, enlighten me. The gun existed on Reach before it was glassed and made no appearances after that. For those who don’t know Reach takes place before Halo CE.
The real question is why is there the BR and the DMR,they are so similar.Theres no reason the DMR cant fit in the time line.Halo is set in a big universe afterall. To me the DMR looks cooler and feels more satisfying to use then the BR.

Thats such a bull -Yoink- reason why to make something like that come back decades later in the universe. THE DMR SHOULD NEVER BE IN HALO PERIOD.

It’s not “decades” later, it’s just 5 years. The battle of Reach took place in 2552, same year as the original Halo trilogy.
For real the DMR has no place in halo 4. It also says the br became more prominant in all branches than the Dmr. I believe it even says that in the weapon description of the dmr in reach. I may be wrong but i read it somewhere. The dmr should play more like it does in reach if anything.

The BR55 series replaced the M392 DMR in all branches but the Army (which was who you fought alongside in Halo Reach). The M395 DMR returns as an all-branch weapon because it is more of a long-ranged marksman weapon than both the BR55 series and the previous DMR.
Here’s how to make it simple:
BR55, BR85, and M392: mid-long range infantry rifles
M395: long range scout/marksman rifle
There’s a reason for it in the military

My god a voice of reason in the midst of all the DMR fanboys. Thank you

Already debunked his post and I’m not a DMR fanboy. I hate it with a passion. I’m just a lore -Yoink!-.
My weapon of choice is the surpressor,Ijust dont want to see the DMR get hurt.
Leave the DMR alone!.

No. It must be nerfed for the sake of all other weapons.
If the dmr didnt wreck every other weapon in this game i wouldnt even touch it. Also the dmr is so much easier to get kills with than the br or the lr. I can miss a shot or two with it and still prevail 90% of the time. And i would like a source please. Also if the dmr is a long range marksmans rifle then why does it preform so well up close. You dont see snipers running around in the streets of the middle east. i dont mind it being good long range just make it preform as well as the lr does in close range encounters.

It performs so well in CQB because it’s broken and needs a patch, that’s why. And if you were asking for sources on my canon info, it’s Halopedia.org

Lies! it needs to live. How else are half -Yoinked!- players who hide around the edge of maps gonna get kills?.Those players need that gun.Think of the little people!.
