Opi is supposed to be a good brand, and if you want the top and base coats you’ll spend $20 for one shade, so it’s basically like getting the coating for free if you want the polish.
That being said, I don’t like that this is the only way to get the coating. A lot of people who play Halo just don’t like nail polish. If you do, and you want quality polish, great! If not, it’s a lot to pay for one coating.

There is a 0.000001% chance of this ever happening. If anything, you buying the sponsor product just means that Microsoft will make more sponsor deals.
Yeah I see this as a win/win. If you want the product you get something unique with it you can use in the game.
You may also try out new products if you want the thing that bad. Personally I wouldn’t buy nail polish. But if the brand is good and I really wanted the armour coating I would just buy it for the wife to try.
