ive been gone since about the time halo 3 came out and ive never heard of recon but somone said you can get it for free but idk how to and i dont have it yet so how do i do it??? or is this some illegal hack

nope i thought you got it after you beat the game on legendary but i did that today 
im pretty proud of that but i dont have it and ther is no spot for it in the aromry

They gave it away when Bungie stopped recording stats so you should have it. If not, try getting the vidmasters achievements on halo 3 and ODST.
