Free Gold req pack from FF even after 10th Win

I remember 343 saying you’ll get 3 free gold req packs after the 5th win and 5 more at the 10th win. But even after that there are times i am getting a free gold pack after a few FF wins/completions. Anyone else come across free golds?

They’re for completing Firefight Commendations. Once you’ve maxed all of them you’ll stop getting free silver and gold packs.
