It would be cool to go into a free form mode were your spartan moves with your body so you can basically make your spartan dance or do some funny poses. This can allow machinima makers more realistic freedom and allow photographers to make some cool poses in their pics.
You can actually do this on a 7 year old PC game called Garry’s mod with the old kinect, here’s Proof
But with some perfecting and with the new kinect 2.0 you could have your spartan move like This
Sounds awesome, and it’s stupendous potential for machinima or RvB .
So long as it’s not a critical component of the gaming experience… I’m a grizzled old video game player who is not convinced that Kinect is worth it, or that I’d ever want it to be a party of my gaming experience. I just like my comfy recliner with beverage holder too much…

The problem with thee kinect was that it didn’t receive much third party support. Dance Central and Child of Eden proved that the kinect can be fun. Also this game D4 has shown that you can play without needing to stand. Once more indie devs get there hands on it the more fun games we could see
If 343i at E3 showed us that by just a push of a button on the D-Pad you could go into a free form mode and have someone make the spartan dance like Michael Jackson in Thriller people will laugh with it not at it. which would be good because it would be fun mechanic
I don’t see myself or many other people ever touching this sort of mechanic, so I’m not sure that all the time and effort of putting it into the game would turn out to be worthwhile in the end.
However, I do see the potential that if offers to machinima makers. Since Halo has always been known for machinima, it would be wonderful for 343i to focus on bringing that back to the franchise. Due to that, I’d be curious to see how this whole thing would work out!

The mechanic is more to do with ragdoll physics and the mode is basically a ragdoll mode where the user takes control of the full body and would be as hard as you think. The mechanic would be treated as the same as theater or forge where some will use it more than others but almost everyone will try it and have fun with it.
They could play games like Simon says with these features too, how funny would that be?

Yeah, I understand what the mechanic is, but I still don’t really see the use of it, to be perfectly honest. I know many people won’t even plug in their Kinect, let alone play around with ragdoll physics in Halo with it.
I dunno, I guess I would just prefer that 343i takes the time to make future Halo games as good as possible, as balanced and glitch-free as they can, instead of investing in features like this that serve no clear purpose.
1 question.
Could a friend and I go into customs and slap each others spartans in the face?
ALSO hotrod a feature like this serves the purpose of bringing machinima back to halo as if something like this was a thing it would blossom again.

Maybe it is possible, you never know, I can’t promise you because Im not designing the game but you could have a dance off

Why can’t they do both
Try to make the game glitch free and have a fun mechanic, sometimes it’s nice to put in features that don’t have a clear purpose as it allow people to be creative. Forge didn’t have a clear purpose until people manage to make use of the tools and create fun maps that nobody ever though would be possible. So who’s to say you can’t do it with this feature.
You and your friend can have a laugh online with this feature. You guys could make a Power Rangers pose and watch infected players walk in the room and get confused

I support it!

I didn’t know you had the same idea as me but the more threads that focus in these aspects the better as it can show 343i we want this. I wanted to post this idea for a while but I was a bit concerned that everyone would responded negatively like they always do.
Speak for yourself HotRod192 haha I would use the crap out of this feature and get a pretty great work out in too.
I could see tons if fun things with this feature especially for Machinimas with fight scenes. Red vs Blue season 10 anyone? I solute the!!
