Free For All CSR

After some time I’ve returned back to Halo 5, I find the multiplayer very enjoyable.
However, one thing that doesn’t fail to notice me is how harsh the csr system in FFA is nowadays.

For example: I play a game of FFA and come in 1st place. I gain about 1/6 of the CSR bar to the next level. (I am currently Diamond 3, used to be an Medium Onyx/High Onyx player).
I get tossed in with players who are platinum or sometimes even lower. The game expects me to win these matches, because I’m higher in rank.
The problem is tho, the difference between platinum and diamond players aren’t that high in FFA. And with the majority being smurfs it’s even more frustrating to win a match.

But CSR system doesn’t recognize the smurfs and it thinks they are of equal skill as I am, while sometimes they are much better than I am.

If I lose 1 game and get placed 6th or 5th I almost lose the half of my CSR bar, because the game expects me to win.
This is highly annoying. I once won 3 games in a row and immediatly lost all the CSR I gained because I came in 6th place the next game.

I agree. I barely get any csr for my wins against lower ranked players but if I lose to a lower ranked smurf, my csr gets crushed.

ive also finished 2nd (dozens of times) and lost rank because the game expected me to win. This is only my second season of ffa but, from what I understand, it didn’t use to be so hard. Seems like maybe they swung the pendulum too far back in the other direction.

Yeah it’s definitely too harsh as of now (evidence by the fact that only 24 players have gotten above 1800 this season). It gets even worse the higher you get. It was too easy before now its way too hard. I almost think it’s worse now. I think there needs to be set CSR gain/loss for each rank. For example 1st(+16-30) 2nd(+10-15) 3rd(+5-9) 4th(-5-9) 5th(-10-15) 6th(-16-30). It doesn’t have to be those numbers exactly but you get the idea.

I like the idea of set CSR gain/loss. This could include win and losing streaks aswell. For example if we take (+16-30) you could do after 3 wins in a row (+20-30), 5 wins (+25-30) or something like that. If it only counts for the first place then the smurfs, who most of the time get in 1st place, will be more spread out from platinum to Onyx thus making the ranks more fair.
