Unfortunately anyone who was able to download the Crimson map pack for free will need to give it back on December 18th. 343 is calling it their complimentary limited access to the maps (I don’t think it was on purpose initially).

It was an error on microsofts part. (343 just makes the content microsoft sells and distributes the stuff) And instead of microsoft saying “sorry guise we dun -Yoinked!- up” they try to play it off cool. Personally i don’t care. I bought the LE so this doesn’t concern me.

Which makes it so there is no way to tell… I HIGHLY doubt they have a system that tells them whether I downloaded via the menu or via the dashboard. ahahahhah. Ill believe microsoft can do this when they do, and at that point I WILL NOT go out and buy the maps.
They’re full of crap. It doesn’t irritate me that the mistake happened. It doesn’t even irritate me to have to pay for the maps now. It just irritates me to no end that Microsoft will not admit that they screwed up. It is so ridiculous that they would make this up just to try to make it seem like they meant for it all to happen. All the twitter things from Xbox saying that they didn’t know what was happening and they were trying to fix the issue (emphasis on issue) and they still pretend it was a completely unannounced program that they said nothing about ever. I don’t care about mistakes I just hate it when people would pretend their mistake was on purpose.

That will be the biggest rage cancer tread spamming Halo Comunity will ever witness. There’s no way to tell the difference from those who bought is with Standart.
I feel stupid to believe that 343i realy intend to -Yoinked!- up the map pack but whatever?!
Can’t wait to see if I still have mine that I bought Legit or if Microsoft stole me 800ms

won’t work. Lot’s of people paid MS points for the single map. Myself included.
The way I see it, if it WAS a 14 day trial, I would have gotten a CODE FOR IT, OR there would have been 2 options in both the dashboard and in-game menu for 2 seperate downloads
1.Crimson Map Pack 800 MSP
2.Crimsom Map Pack Trial 0 MSP
Any other way is simply them covering their -Yoinks!- for their second large -Yoink- up, the first being the specialization codes(I like how they tried to tie that in there as well LOL)
I love how they found a solution for this so quickly but couldn’t figure out how to get people the specializations email who played before november 20th. Seeing that they only had to deal with searching one database with the later and multiple databases with the former.
Sorry but this was a glitch on microsofts part, no where did it say that it was a trial when I got the content and I purchased and own the content, it even stated I was purchasing it (for as stupid as it sounds) for 0 Microsoft points.

I am more offended that they’re giving us such obvious BS than I am that this happened at all. Talk about bad PR, outright lying to people instead of owning up to your mistakes…
By itself i dont care - when viewed with the spec codes and other nonsense from 343 someone nees to be fired from the community relations standpoint. They are making diehard halo fans like me (still got the games from the first xbox) think about moving on to a new series so I cant fault the “new” players for heading to bf3 or rainbow six when it arrives.

I approve of this post. I hope this whole thing blows up in Microsoft’s face and becomes as big an issue as the RROD fiasco. Couple this with lies told about the specialization codes snafu (invalid e-mails my butt) is a horrible PR mistake and will agitate more customer’s than if they would have just come clean and let things be. That would have been the right, ethical and LEGAL thing to do.
