Free code rules

Is there a rule against giving out free codes

You’re allowed to give out a free code, you’re not allowed to request them.

> - Do not start any comparison, advertising, selling, trying to buy, trading, begging for, “sign petition” threads, or solicit information from users. Here, have some free code:

public class HelloWorld {
public static void main(String args) {
// Prints “Hello, World” in the terminal window.
System.out.println(“Hello, World”);
}
}

Now remember, you can get the free code, you are allowed to give out the free code.
You are not, however, allowed to ask for the free code… :wink:

Wow, thanks for the free code. I forget is this C#?

Nope, it’s Java, although the same thing (HelloWorld-window) is not expressed drasstically differently in C# :slight_smile:

Right I thought it was a little familiar. I need to get back into coding.

never knew that… sounds interesting

I got a code for a free avatar T-shirt from some guy, his name was LethalQ. Neither of us got into trouble.

Because Lethal was giving it away, which is perfectly fine. The issue is when you start a topic asking for / begging for codes, that’s not allowed

I never said it wasn’t the issue…? I was just giving the op an example of a code giveaway, why are you even telling me this?

Can I ask myself for a code?

You can, but you don’t need to make a thread about it

That’s not how your post originally read to me

Well, then you misread it then (No offense).
