The free battle passes from this season and season 1 need to come back for season 3, but stay forever so the people who missed out have a chance to grab it. Have it where you have the option to choose which free battlepass you want to work on, then each challenge you complete, unlocks 1 tier.
Then when season 4 comes around. Season 3s free battle passes should come back and stay. And so on and so on. That will give people who were there, the week of the event, a chance to show off what they unlocked. And also helps reduce FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) by bringing them back the next season.
I would very much like to have another chance at the event offerings. I wasn’t able to get the jfo helmet because all those challenges were tied to a terrible playlist. The current event is so much better because you can just play how you want and you’ll advance.
Making it so that you have another chance after the season has ended would be great. Makes completing the event worthwhile so you have the items then and would allow people who don’t enjoy the event playlist or weren’t available the ability to get those items.
Not only was tac ops terrible so I couldn’t stand to play for very long, but my TV died and I had to get a new one. Which took some time because I wanted to get a good one. I missed out on the last few days of the event because of that.
Bringing it back was a courtesy on 343’s part. Also, it was an admit of fault of not being able to deliver sustainability seasons in Halo Infinite. A huge ball that was dropped.
I don’t think it should fully come back just as is, but maybe through a special event.
I really wish event passes aren’t FOMO. I don’t want my friend on Xbox to lose his chance of getting the Commando shoulders. Those commando shoulders should be a permanent chance of getting them instead of time limited event passes.
I bought season 1 and found it not worth the money. So I didn’t buy season 2. Now that I’ve finished the winter update pass, I would keep playing if I could finish season 2’s free pass, but instead I’m off to play Kingdom Come or something else instead.
The Halo Infinite battlepass system is fine, the issue is 343’s greed and their inability to plan ahead more than 3 minutes and 43 seconds at any given time.
Had they left ALL of the Mark VII unlocks on a free pass granted for just buying the single-player Campaign, saving anything not ready to release for the addition of Commendations or Achievment updates in the future, their would be significantly less issues with the shop and pass system now, since that content wouldn’t be a part of Infinites main experience.
It would have classified as bonus content targeting F2P players and Nostalgia Junkies, it would have allowed some more wiggle room when it came to the time between seasons and what those seasons can contain.
It’s very surprising to me to think about the fact that there have been so many peices of equipment that could have been incorporated as a permanent challenge to do something. You dont see a peice of armour and think “oh cool, this person accomplished x challenge” instead you just think “ok this person simply played the game at christmas time and now the thing is gone forever.” Dont get me wrong, I think that the events are good and for holidays they should definitely just let us unlock peices the way we do. But for things like the JFO helmet and the commando shoulder pads, things that just seem like awesome armour that has been in halo/belongs in halo, we should have permanent challenges to do that anyone can accomplish at any time.
I say all this but i really am grateful for these events. They shake things up just enough for me to keep playing and its fun to have all my friends match our looks to each other.
