Free Armour Coating with Opi Purchase!

I knew what you meant. I mean, it’s not like when a guy says he wants to get in touch with his “feminine side” that people assume he has a “female side”.

They’re just trolling so it’s best to ignore them and focus on the important things, like our fabulous shaders :nail_care:

I didn’t realize you defined synonyms.

It’s not trolling. It’s constructive feedback to breakdown an otherwise narrow conversation. I’m advocating for the inclusive use of this skin by all players, the rest of you are arguing over market demographics.

Absolutely agree…that’s the whole point of advertising. In the context of this debate it certainly applies to both however I believe the emphasis on this particular marketing and promotional campaign is the wider audience rather than their specific marginal demographic…the fact that it’s all over the online media and that it’s being debated on forums/Reddit kind of proves the point…but the real “beef” of the matter will be in the sales figures and we’ll all get to enjoy the purple glittery delights in game in the next few months.

Ulta already has the Xbox line if you want to enjoy purple sparkles now. They didn’t have the You Had me at Halo shades where I live, but one coat of Can’t CNTL Me and another of Pixel Dust and my nails are sparkly and purple :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Awesome! I actually asked my friend if she wears nail polish…she doesn’t tend to wear much makeup but she does so I sent her the link. If she happens to buy some then I’ll join you in being a sparkly glittery Spartan!

Hope she enjoys it. If she does, tell her to keep the receipt, or have it emailed. You need it to get the code.

Do these nail polishes have to be bought via Amazon to qualify for the Halo skin?

Not Amazon specifically, but I don’t think it can be just any retailer either. The article on xbox’s website says specific retailers will have the rewards. I know on Ulta’s page for Infinite Shine they specifically mention the rewards.

(h)ttps://www.ulta.com/p/xbox-infinite-shine-collection-pimprod2030260

Interestingly it’s only mentioned on the page for this product specifically, but it says any purchase from the Xbox collection. I purchased two of the Xbox Collection Lacquers (which were a bit cheaper) and I assume they’ll work.

Which Mega Bloks rewards are you talking about?

Understandable, have a great day.

It’s so hyped up thought due to it being the first, or one of the first “game” promotions directly marketed in an industry that is dominated by more feminine products. And the overall buzz I’m seeing is excitement about the product line!

Female gamers make up about 35% Fortnight player base, and somewhere between 1/5th and 33% of CoD player base, and I would wager Halo is in that same ballpark.

There are MILLION of nail polish users that play video games. Ulta didn’t create an entire brand of video game themed polish just to have it binned. They clearly know there is a massive market for it.

The problem with your take is you are immediately ignoring the “core” market, and just assuming that this isn’t designed for nail polish uers that also play games. Nail Polish users are the ones that are the most hyped, and scooping up the entire set. They are the ones that will be making content on youtube promoting it more. Which will be a mix of people buying the polish for the color themselves, and also for those that have some association with being a gamer. Maybe they already play Halo, maybe this promotion will get them to install Halo and give it a try.

So while its true that some % of their sales is going to be the “one and done” shoppers that have no interest in the product itself, just to get the promotion, its incredibly unlikely that this will make up any significant portion of sales. Since that target demographic are: Halo specific gamers, that also want to pay $20 for a very specific glittery purple skin.

SO it goes without saying the the vast majority of sales are going to be going to people that actually use nail polish, and will continue to use nail polish. With the majority of sales likely coming from nail polish users that don’t even care that the promotion exists. Regardless of them also being a gamer or not.

It is Amazon specifically. Xbox’s website didn’t make that perfectly clear, so I was confused. Opi’s website makes it clear. At Ulta you get a Forza skin only. Everywhere else besides Amazon and Ulta you don’t get any bonus. Nail polish still looks pretty, and dried pretty quick, so I don’t mind buying more, but I wouldn’t want to give you the wrong info.

I’d buy some of the polish regardless of a gift or not. They are really pretty.

I read about that last night. Depending where you buy from it’s either a Forza or Halo code. Unfortunately looks like Amazon  has the Halo codes. I only saw that from Twitter posts, but it looks like you need to fill in a form and use your receipt in the US.

I’m in the UK so I’ll have to buy on Feb 1st, probably from their uk store directly. Not sure if it will work differently here. I’ll update as it happens.
