Will spartan ops be firefight missions with cutscene and small objectives, like activate bridges, or plant bombs- or will spartan ops have firefight scenarios and moving through different locations feauturing campaign style gameplay/objectives/narrative? etc.
I was wondering if frankie or a 343i member could clear this up, would be much appreciated.

This unfortunately… You’re gonna have to wait 6 months.
My guess… you’ll have cutscenes living the life of a spartan IV on the Infinity. Always doing simulations of the same maps over and over, might get repetitive. the simulations might be more multiplayer style than firefight (fighting against each other, not aliens). right around the end of the spartan ops, you and fellow friends you make during the storyline become graduated from training and the last few missions will be in the actual campaign along sides with Master Chief from the spartan IV’s POV (if they use spartan IV’s in campaign, which i see why not).

The way it seems to be described makes me feel like it will be similar to the odst mission where Mickey and Dutch have to blow up the bridge to the oni building and then the building it’s self. All campaign mission based while still having that firefight feel.

This is what I was afraid of after hearing the sparkcast, I’m afraid they might just be firefight missions which is pretty lazy I think when their comparing it to the campaign in scope.
I think it will mostly be full fledged proper missions, not just firefight with cutscenes. Though that’s not to say there won’t be any missions similar to firefight.
They said the spec ops are supposed to be real missions where the spartans are sent off, not training, so it wouldn’t make sense to just have firefight style mode with cutscenes.
5 missions a week, it’s fair to say most of the missions will probably be quick and simple, but hey, it’s free content every week with new environments (hopefully).

indeed i would be happy with that, but i’d be happier with mini campaign missions with set pieces rather than defending/stand your ground missions, but i wouldnt mind a few of those either. it’d be nice to know now rather than getting my hopes up

what do you mean free content? wouldn’t it just be on the disc already only unlockable by date? seems like it would be a lot memory wasted for your xbox.

If it’s on the disc (which it probably will be) call it new content or whatever, that’s just semantics, not really important.
