Hey guys so Frankie confirmed on Neogaf very little CG will be used in Halo 5. I’m thinking probably a prologue and epilogue like Halo 4… Here is the link and the quote.
“There will be VERY limited CG in Halo 5. Almost none in the grand scheme of things.”

But onto the topic, that’s good news I guess. I don’t have anything against CG as it can look really amazing, but most people seem to like non-CG cinematics, so good stuff. Only a few more days, hype levels rising
While I like Blur and think they did a great job on Halo 2A and Spartan Ops and all that, I definitely do prefer in-engine cutscenes. That way it doesn’t break immersion with something that looks drastically different from the gameplay. So this is definitely good news!
That’s pretty cool. Now that i know they are in-game, maybe they will do something like Halo 2 and the weapon you were carrying appears in the Cutscene of the mission objective you complete. Ex. Master chief destroying the Scarab or him getting of the Gondola. He carries the weapon you had on at that moment.

Blur didn’t work on Spartan Ops. The only games they’ve done were Halo Wars and Halo 2 Anniversary. Though I’m sure they’ll return for Halo 5’s CG cutscenes, whatever they’ll be. I forget what studio worked on Halo 4’s CG cutscenes but it was not Blur.

All of Halo 4’s CG, including the Halo 5: Guardians E3 2013 trailer, were created by Axis Animations.

There were three different studios:
The prologue and epilogue cinematics were created by Digic Pictures
The terminal videos and the cutscene that played during the Librarian’s monologue were created by The Sequence Group
The Spartan Ops cinematics were created by Axis Animation
I’m surprised that Blur won’t be doing all the cutscenes. From H2A, I kinda got a vibe that 343 and Blur had somewhat developed a partnership. I’m all for in-game cutscenes, but Blur did such an outstanding job with H2A and thought they were going to be working with 343 in terms of cinematics.

No way man the blur cinematic a are amazing and I prefer that than having really -Yoink- looking cutscenes because like man those look so freaking good and that’s the way it has always been and thus the way it should be

I think only Halo Wars, Halo 2A and the prologue/epilogue of Halo 4 had CG cutscenes, all the others in all the Halo games have been in-game so it hasn’t how it’s always been
