Frank o'connor reveals ancient enemy

major spoilers below!!!

After much debate and arguments. On GTTV last night franky confirmed the didact as the ancient evil.

were you expecting it? I certainly was I knew that he was the enemy the moment I finished anniversary.

I believe that we were all expecting it after E3…

I still have yet to see him point blank say this.

> I still have yet to see him point blank say this.

He’s dropped the Didact bomb on 2 or 3 interviews now, calling him by name and saying he will affect the Prometheans in some way.

though now its finally confirmed and the arguments may now see a seas

That doesn’t mean anything. He didn’t say “Didact is the Ancient Evil.”, he said that in some ways the Didact might come off as sinister. Obviously something bigger even than the Didact is in play here…

Calling him by name but not saying hes the Ancient Evil in general, just says that hes a major influence, part of the conflict surrounding Requiem, which most already knew, he says whatever is Awakening is not Friendly. It is very likey something occurs in Silentium to showcase the true Ancient Evil, but I dont believe it is the Didact completely if at all at the moment.

> “Some of the creatures that you disturb when you’re exploring Requiem are kind of almost like automated defenses”
>
> “There is going to be a pivotal moment in the plot when they switch from being an aggressive but automated defense to something that is a little bit more sinister and a little bit more directed.”
>
> “You start to get the sense that there is some agency behind their behavior as you explore that level and that is ultimately revealed to be the Didact.”
>
> “He’s a character that is pulled from the somewhat deep obscure fiction of our novels and the terminals from halo 3.”
>
> “He comes from a fairly mythical place in the universe.”
>
> “He was the most powerful general and the most powerful military leader in the entire history of the galaxy about 100,000 years ago.”
>
> “His persona is kind of a mixed bag. He’s a heroic figure, he’s a noble figure in history, and in some ways feels like a good guy but he’s much more complicated than that.”
>
> The tag line is an ancient evil awakens, so whatever is awakening is obviously not friendly.

So tell me anywhere in his statement that the ancient enemy/evil is the Didact?

Well…That kind of says the complete opposite…Thanks! I was worried for a second.

OH, and also notice in the IGN article, it says that the end of the 3rd mission gives away a spoiler that 343i asked them not to reveal…Hmmm

but look at all of this he said didact when it showed the ancient evil awakens.

I am just curious of why people are so oblivious as what we are being showed. the terminals had alot round the didact as well as the last 2 forerunner books including the fact that we are fighting the prometheans.

what other clues would you need to tell you that you are fighting the didact.

> though now its finally confirmed and the arguments may now see a seas

Link to actual video of him saying this because if its the same one Iwatched in no way did he sat the Didact is the ac0ncient evil.

So lets see a link there please

Dude you need to think outside the box a bit. 343 woulnt make the Ancient Evil so apparent as they are the Didact being in Halo 4. think about it.

We dont even know what requiem is yet: A shield world? a prison, are they protecting something from being “awakened” We still have lots of answers and I would be verrry surprised if the Didact was indeed the ancient evil.

As far as the books have lead up to in primordium and the description of Silentium has lead a lot of us to believe the Didact is no Evil and in no way in his his has he ever been accept to humans maybe.

He said he has a large role in the game not that he is the ancient enemy… just saying

The Didact is obviously trying to prevent us from getting to something on Requiem. Question is why is he still a hostile and enemy 6 months after Halo 4.

Silentium is not coming out until Jan 2013 so it will be very interesting to see how it blends with Halo 4

> He said he has a large role in the game not that he is the ancient enemy… just saying

but there are so many things pointing that he is not to mention the big "an ancient evil awakens sign right after he says didact.

lets add it all shall we.

guilty spark says that the humans would prefer to fight the flood over the didact.

there are prometheans. a force that could only be controlled by the didact.

and there is a giant cryptum flying around requiem.

not to mention we also saw the didacts symbol at the end of the e3 gamplay along with a voice that said “I have long dream’t of this day RECLAIMER

if you havent already seen it everything is pointing at the didact. and If you do not think it is him than you must be in complete denial.

I don’t think anybody doubts the Didact will be an adversary, but that doesn’t mean he is the ancient evil. Why else would Frankie say “His persona is kind of a mixed bag. He’s a heroic figure, he’s a noble figure in history, and in some ways feels like a good guy but he’s much more complicated than that.”

Just because people don’t agree with you and have different interpretations of the info at hand does not make them in denial.

It seems you barely understand what you’re talking about, until 343 says he’s the ancient evil or until you play the game,he isn’t first of all .and second of all the second book focused on the primordial,a precursor much more ancient much more evil then the didact, the didact isn’t evil, doesn’t hate humans if you didn’t know those details I doubt you read the books and are going of information and speculation from others.Re think you’re whole argument and if the didact IS the ancient evil and 343 doesn’t have the most amazing reason why Halo 4 could end up like reach.

That and the fact that it wouldn’t make sense to reveal him so early cough E3 trailer cough

The Didact is just a red herring I bet.

what if its not an actual being that is the ancient evil. what if it is an evil within that emerges and is awaken. what if there was a side of the didact that we havent seen. it seems like when they were talking about an ancient evil awakens it seems that frankie was speaking in a way that it is not a different being
