so i found this interview and was wondering what other thought about this. frankie talks about competitive halo and again, brings up how they must make it “more accessible”.
wondering what you all think.
to be honest im a little sad with what was said. i mean what competition needs to be more accessible for lower skilled players? he makes it sound like they need to have a chance to win too even though these tournaments are for thousands of people most are actual competitive players. whats the point of the competition if your making it easier for everyone?
> I’m not sure what to think. Some of his word scared me to death, while others gave me hope.
right? he says how they want to support competitive halo for the future then say they are going to make it more accessible for random folks by making ffa tourneys and whatnot.
i have never heard people say there needs to be more ffa competitions. makes me wonder where they get this info.
Did everyone miss the fact that he basically said there would be more tournaments and spectator mode is, while not confirmed, we can almost be sure it will be in Halo 5 after Frankie’s comments.

more tourneys are cool but when he mentions making it more accessible and whatnot alarms go off.
> Awesome interview.

> It’s nice to see that 343 are gearing away from the failed casual attempt and are moving towards the more prosperous competitive side of Halo.

> Fingers crossed for no loudouts/sprint/flinch
that would be nice but when he says he wants to make it more accessible i have flashbacks to that poor spartan in a wheelchair…
I am VERY glad to see 343 making big steps towards REALLY supporting the competitive scene. I think that that is really the best aspect of the entire Halo community and really drives its greatness.
I assume and hope that the accessible idea is that many people have access to the tournaments. I do think that that is really important really. The more people that have a chance to compete and get those competitive juices flowing in their veins, the better. Playing in an intense Halo tournament is a tough feeling to match!
343 wants to provide an easier to enter version of a Halo tourney to get these guys interested into a more competitive environment of the likes of MLG and the like.
343 wants to do these kinds of tourneys, which incorporates as many features they can without making it random, while MLG makes the hardcore versions for the hardcore players.
To be honest, that’s actually cool. That way, both kinds of players can have exposure and the game gets more attention through developer created tourneys and thus more sales, thus more people to fill up MM.

I’m just wondering, how exactly is spectator mode competitive? Anyone in the match can use it, and what if everyone in your team except for you is in it? What the heck do you do then? Just a thought everyone.

Halo 1, 2, 3, Reach and ODST didn’t suffer without sprint
