I realize where they are going with this. Its not JUST about competitive gaming. You can go through my Career and see that I have put my hours on HALO in. Ive grinded it out with everyone else. That being said I see where they are coming from. They have to keep up. The 100 thousand gamers that REALLY care about game mechanics and strategy and gameplay will not keep halo alive. It just wont. That being said. We are a very important part of Halo. Please Frank. Please 343i. Make a dedicated playlist to us. Make it a truskill 1-50 and take away armor abilities. Keep arena style maps involved. How hard would that be? We have stayed with Halo day in and day out for years and we feel abandoned. Hopefully you read this in time to add it in the game. Please don’t just leave us by the wayside. We have stayed loyal. Stay loyal to us. Just consider it.
I was under the impression Classic playlist(s?) had been confirmed.

Yeah, as far as I’m aware, they’re day one.
If not, 343 will be under heavy fire.

halo 4 in general should be classic, thats it
You obviously don’t know anything about video games. You can’t just take away armor abilities! Plus I like them.

good for you! just get out of here and go play reach with the other 3 people who like them too.
I get it though. I mean I am a business man. I will even admit that the new changes sound cool and interesting to play. BUT, it still isn’t what I expect from the game. I want to be able to go on and it still feel like halo. Not some dumbed down version of halo that Anniversary like REACH is. I want to go on and it feel like Gaurdian of H3 or lockout of H2. I think we all feel left behind. Make your money Frank but don’t forget the people that got the series where it is today. If it wasn’t for us You wouldn’t have a game to be making.

Classic playlists die off, fast. All the classic playlists in Reach died within weeks of their release. Halo 4 will be no different.
In order for a classic playlist to work players of all skills must have a desire to play it. Beginners will want to play because it’s fun. Intermediate players will want to play because it’s fun beating up on the new guys. And Hardcore halo players will enjoy the competitive nature of the playlist.
Now look at the classic playlist in Reach, the beginners did not flock to the playlist because it was not very fun for them. The intermediate players were not having fun because they had no fair competition because the playlist was mostly compromised of people who took the game seriously.
Then there is MLG, now that playlist can be a success because most hardcore players tend to want to play in an ultra competitive environment. With the exception of the occasional new guy who doesn’t know what the playlist is, and the ever so present xXMLGxQuickScopez420Xx players that want to play against “Pros”.

Halo 1-3 would like to have a word with you.
@fluff
Thats why truskill needs to be reinstated in the playlist. Thats what keeps newbies playing newbies. It wouldn’t die off if done correctly or if there was a “set” of Slayer gametypes. Original Team Slayer should never die. It should be the way it was back then. Small Changes are okay. I enjoyed the bubble sheild. It didn’t affect the way the game way played that much. Anyone remember “Turf”? Lol i really have been missing that map lately.

Trueskill needs to make a comeback, it allowed players to be matched up fairly with players of their skill levels.
It’s like developers think gamers need more and more gimmicks to keep playing. Back when Halo CE was released you didn’t need incentive to play, you just played to play the game. I guess the only reason people play Halo is to play Dress Up My Spartan 4.
We will just have to wait and see. I just hope things aren’t ridiculous. I actually trust Frank. I do. Now I will see if that trust is unfounded. Either way. Im pumped up for Halo 4 and whatever Bungies got hiding up their sleeve.

If the playlists float, then sweet, we get more variety.
If they sink, then I get to rub that fact in the faces of all the “Halo 4 needs to be a Halo 2 remake” naysayers, which will be lulzy indeed.
Either way, no harm can come from trying.
Halo’s longevity is gone without 1-50. 50s are the only reason people still play H3 today. They add so much to the game its unbelievable.
What we need instead of a new ranking system to prevent cheating, is a new system to stop cheaters. Its seriously not hard to catch/stop cheaters. If someone has -500 exp, they’re probably a booster.
