Frag Grenades in Halo 4

Please do every sane player a favor and bring back the Halo 3 frag grenades. They had perfect bounce characteristics and actually had a reasonable fuse time. Unlike Reach grenades, where even the most thumbless of new players can simply spam two and get a kill, Halo 3’s grenades had to be well placed to ensure a kill or to weaken the enemies shield. Their damage level as opposed to player shield and health was absolutely perfect.

Reach frag grenades are absolutely awful. Please do not bring them back.

No. They really were not, I found that the frags in 3 were perfect, I liked their characteristics, they were not overpowered, unlike Halo Reach, at choke points in BTB on Reach, it feels like a nuclear war, and it’s funny, because in the end usually everyone is dead, it causes so many pyrrhic victories lol.

The only thing wrong with the Reach grenades is fuse time.

Reach frags are ridiculous. It’s like spawning with 2 rockets…

3 - they can kill you when you still have over half your shields

4 - they don’t bounce whatsoever, so the average new player can simply throw one right before dying and kill you

5 - you spawn with two of them

They are just awful compared to Halo 3’s grenades. Reach frags are a horribly failed attempt at Halo CE frag grenades.

Not to mention the blast radius and their inconsistency.

Reaches grenades are VERY inconsistent, sometimes one can land directly under you and it wont kill you, I have also survived direct grenades under me when my shields are low, however sometimes you can be killed by one when you’re 10 feet away, despite having full shields, they also seem to bounce at random, at times they bounce a lot, then other times they don’t bounce at all.

Reach frags have many things wrong with them, inconsistency is one of them.

Good post, OP. Halo 3’s grenades were great, and their physics were much more consistent--something I hope to see in Halo 4’s grenades.

lol what awful counterarguments. You seem to be under the assumption that I’m bad at the game or something. Any decent player can tell you that Reach nades in their current for are dumb. They were designed in part to encourage the use of Armor Lock (lol). If that isn’t enough to convince you that they are dumb I don’t know what else is. They don’t work well for Reach, what makes you think that they will work for Halo 4?

Lag isn’t the problem at all.

Lag? Really, is that all you could come up with? If it’s lag, please explain as to why it happens virtually every game, despite the connection being fine in the game, many other people have noticed the inconsistency of frag grenades in Reach too, so please do not blame lag.
