While we’ve gotten a lot more actual content in the Event Pass, it saddens me that we’re still locked behind Weekly Challenges, ALL OF THEM require you to play the Fiesta Mode.
Now I’ll say this upfront, I’m not a great Halo Infinite player, and much like various other games we have items being locked behind a Skill Wall. I just hate the idea of these limited time things that require you to be good enough or lucky enough to actually complete your challenges. And if that weren’t enough, I hate Fiesta, I don’t find the enjoyment in having the entire enemy team spawn with and ONLY with rocket launchers and energy sword while all I ever get are the most useless weapons in the game.
My solution to this would be let people purchase the Event Pass. Surprisingly this isn’t an option. I can’t purchase the Armor Core either which in all honesty is all I care about in this Event.
Their decision to keep the Event “locked” behind the Fiesta game mode tells me that have no issue in alienating their audience. Their are people who don’t enjoy the game mode, or don’t enjoy PvP in general, and because of this these players are being excluded from this event that’s being advertised throughout the games menu.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t have rewards for the more skilled players, but don’t “lock” handfuls of content behind ‘limited time only Skill Walls’, the least you could do is not be so vague about when or if these Events and items will ever return

Paywalls are definitely worse than having a “skill wall”. It’s not necessarily about skill either if you play more often.
That’s very true. Though even then the Fiesta mode is extremely luck based. As an example; in order to complete the Double Kills challenge I have to;
- Spawn with a sufficient weapon to kill 2 players
- Find two players close enough for it to count
- Pray that said players also haven’t spawned with any power weapons
And just the general limited time that the event has. I wouldn’t have a problem with the system if it would let me grind in my own time, like how the battle pass is designed.
I was hoping we’d at least be able to do Daily Challenges the same way we did for the Winter Contingency Event
That’s the whole point of fiesta in my mind is the randomness of what you might get and if you can make it work. I do definitely agree that the event is pretty short though.

That’s true, and I understand how that may appeal to some, but just I don’t find any enjoyment in Fiesta PvP, especially when I’m playing in the typical ‘sweaty’ Australian servers.
Honestly I found committing suicide to switch weapons more appealing than getting Sworded, Sniped or Rocketed by tryhards. But that’s just me.
I just don’t have the skill or motivation to grind out a single mode that I hate, and as casual player who just wants to have the same experience in my own way, it’s depressing. Heck, For Honor has a better Battle Pass and Event Pass system, you can progress both at the same time, nothing locked behind difficult “competitive” challenges. Again that’s just my opinion.
To me the Event is fine on paper, but at the end of the day it feels more like a chore than it does a reward.
