One thing I am getting kind of sick of hear not just on these forums but from my local buddies. “this isn’t Halo anymore”
I get it, Halo is no longer the amazing game most of the Halo fans grew up with CE and H2, but things will never be that way again. As a society we evolve and simplification is a thing of the past so everyone dreaming for a Halo 2.5 just get off the Halo band wagon. Either readjust or move on.
This is no different than from an IT world either. You don’t like how all the new operating systems require you to learn and how new released move your menus all around. Sure you can complain all you want, I’ve tested system, I design networking and production line integration and the biggest thing I’ve learned is you either start moving in the direction of the masses or you get left behind.
I don’t really care for some aspect of NextGen but it’s hear to stay. Either figure out a way to incorporate it into your gaming life or find a new hobby.
Removing all the connectivity, party and chat issues the game mechanics aren’t really that bad. That’s also something I would have never thought would come out of my mouth as I love Halo:CE and have easily +1000 games on multiplier on CE alone.
My concerns at this point are basic mechanic changes, but some of these are more than likely going to be addressed.
We know clearly some weapons need a massive nerf or maybe SMG becomes a center spawn weapon that is a power weapon.
Do we really need ground pound? This has completely remove the ability to even try duck jumping to reach better jumping points for better players.
Related to #2, why not make jumps that can be combed with a perfectly timed jump that doesn’t require clamber? Again, give the players with execute some form of advantage.
Excess sounds are not required, they removed the “HONK” from CE in MCC, so rather easy
Power weapon callouts would be fine if you are within a very short distance of the weapon but I don’t see why they are needed anyway.
Teammate markers
The issue I see with the basic mechanics are minor but the other aspects I don’t see changing. So start learning how to change your gaming style to fit the new era of FPSers.
The greatest problem I’ve found is not change, but trying to make Halo look like other popular games just to get a few new people in to make a quick buck. Halo CAN change, it just shouldn’t try to copy the success of other games. 343 needs to make Halo 5 unique and from what I’ve seen so far, it’s just taking stuff from other games and putting it in places it doesn’t belong.

Well the first thing I noticed would be this smart scope thingy. It may not actually work like aim down sights, but that doesn’t matter, It LOOKS like ADS. There was absolutely no need to change the original zoom in, I personally think smart scope looks ugly compared to the old system, plus it breaks the canon.
Another thing would be the incredibly ugly and distracting lighting effects. Too much bloom and lens flare, so many games use this type of lighting and it looks so bad.

I see a lot of personal preferences that you wish to impose on other players as facts that help in aiding the game being an unpleasant product. Zoom in is still ADS no matter which way you look at it and halo has had it, 343 decided it was time to map it to a trigger instead of a stick which doesn’t seem to me as a ripoff of any game in particular. Your opinions are fine and valid in every sense however claiming the company is copying due to your preferences not being aligned is not the way to go.

perhaps they simply decided that their mid range rifle should perhaps have a sight more suited to mid range rather than the acog thing that has always been on the BR
