FPS capped to 133

I used to get 200-300 frames on older versions with unlocked framerate but now I can’t get past 133fps, no matter the settings. I have no v-sync or g-sync enabled either in-game or Nvidia control panel. No power savings modes activated on power settings.

When I start custom game, its around 200 FPS but after 5-10 secs goes down to 133fps. This happens on all titles.

Either CPU or GPU is fully utilized based on MSI Afterburner stats.

I have a laptop with 6 core i7 8750h and nVidia GTX 1060 6GB + 32 gb dual channel ram.

Any tips on how to resolve this? Also checked Nvidia profiles and restored defaults with nVidia Inspector and this.

unistall all MSI apps on your laptop and install solo Nvidia driver with ge force experience

Tried that and also a fresh OS install. No help.

All the other games work fine, Fortnite 300+ fps, CS:Go, Fall Guys, and Age of Empires have all no problems.

My idea was to see if anyone else had a similar problem or if it’s just me. Not getting common tips and tricks I’ve obviously tried.

Yeah, thought if it was just a common issue or anyone else had it before. But seems like best option, I’m getting new 280hz monitor today so I’ll see if that makes any difference and then open a ticket if not.

It didn’t help me with the problem so I need to make a ticket, unfortunately.

Thanks for the help tho.

Sorry to come after 3 month, I’ve got the same issue then you, since few weeks my FPS are caped a 133, especially in multiplayer.
Sometime (rare moment) I’ve got my normal FPS, I don’t search the higher FPS possible, it’s just that my screen can go to 240Hz and I feel the difference when it’s comes to that point.

Thks you if you have found any solution

Thanks for reaching out, I’m still having this issue despite trying to report it to Support. So far no fix.

So I found a possible fix, totally by accident. I connected my Xbox One controller with a Micro USB cable instead of Bluetooth and that seemed to fix the issue. I also had an issue launching/connecting to H4 and H2A titles and fixed that by setting all the framerates to Unlimited (from 240 FPS) on all titles and they work again.

Very random bugs indeed, let me know if this helps you.
