Put simply, Halo needs one. With the fast movement speed and how low the FOV is on Xbox, it’s insane to see why they haven’t added it, seeing as how PC has it… To add to the fact, FOV sliders should be a norm in all games.
So because it is in which PC games? it should be required for all games? Halo has never had it and most of the time when we there is one, it puts a lot of the HUD into wack. I think it is perfectly ok that it hasn’t been and I really hope it doesn’t.

I’m not saying “Hey, its in ALL PC GAMES, therefore it should be in ALL XBOX GAMES”, i’m saying it should be a norm for all games. And i’m saying PC version of Halo 5 got a FOV slider, so why can’t they add it on Xbox?
And if you’re fine with the current FOV, fine, you don’t have to adjust it, but for people who get motion sickness from time to time playing it, which i have, it’d be a wonderful thing to have. Give us the OPTION to tweak it, is the best thing i can say.

PC is not just one hardware running the show. You have different processers, different graphics cards, different motherboards, ect. that add in a new layer of randomness a person will play a game one. Companies that put their games on PC have to account for that and give the option because most likely, the game will not look the same or behave the same for each person.
On Consoles, especially games that are exclusive like this one, they only need to have one hardware setup to test how the game runs and feels/looks. You know what the system will do and you know that every single person playing it will have the same base hardware specs.
If you get motion sickness from playing it, why don’t you turn down the sensitivity instead of having a whole new element into the mix?
It’s been a wanted option since h3, would fix a lot of people’s issues as well when it comes to how it looks to them. So many console games have horrible FoV and it just gets worse when there’s no option to adjust it.

I actually do play on a low sensitivity, i play on 4, with the movement dead-zone and such related items on lower settings to increase my accuracy during multiplayer. My personal settings isn’t the problem…
And yes, I’m highly aware of all the different aspect that people who don’t use consoles use. Even with your explanation though, I’ll take Titanfall 2 as an example. Even with it released on all the platforms, it still included a FOV slider for PS4/XB1. Meaning it’s not impossible to implement. Even with how fast paced Titanfall 2 is (much more than Halo), i have never experienced it with that game.
Yes, I know it’d take work for making it work for consoles, but it’s a system that people could choose to use. And even without PC added into the fact, it would give people who experience thus problems an easier time playing the game. I’m going to play it, but if i am going to, i’d like to feel comfortable doing so.
Have you seen PC FOV with 120 setting on Halo 5? It looks glorious. Sorry if it seems jumbled, but you get the point.
I think it should be a option on halo 6 at least I never ran into this problem but I do know some people it’s unbearable for them
A FOV slider would upset the competetive-minded players of the game. It would give an edge to those who play with that setting all the way up.
I’d like to see a fov slider, Battlefield 1 included it and it certainly improved the game for me.
Halo 5 needs it. The fov is so claustrophobic especially when your weapon takes up half the bloody screen. Having played a fair amount of doom and other high fov games it is just so much nicer.
Agreed. I can play Titanfall 2 or Battlefield 1 (both with fov sliders) and I go back to Halo 5 and feel claustrophobic.
should be available in halo 6

Titanfall 2, Doom 2016 and other console games have an FOV slider.
Not too much to ask for. Also, with Halo 6 possibly coming to PC, an FOV slider would be even more appreciated.
The real question here is “What’s a FOV Slider?”
I’ve been dying for a larger field of vision or a FOV slider for years. The FOV has steadily been getting smaller with each title and now it feels like I have tunnel vision in Halo. I’d immediately put the FOV to the highest setting if a slider was introduced.
I actually hate for the life of me FOVs higher than 90. I honestly don’t really know how people play like that, seriously you need to squint to see enemies far away. Also yada yada, weapon models look real -Yoink- when cranking the FOV up, yada yada yada, tunnel vision(technically tunnel vision is a narrow line of sight, not a wider line of sight, so cranking the FOV up is causing tunnel vision) craps on your sense of distance compared to actual distance(ex. you could be 5 feet away from an enemy, but your FOV being high as crap messes with your head).

You may be exaggerating when you say we need to ‘‘squint’’, it’s not that bad. Also, it is your personal experience. You may not have an issue with the default settings, but for some people including myself at times, motion sickness kicks in and ruins the experience. That, and anything over 120 FOV is ridiculous in my opinion, it doesn’t need to be that high, but it doesn’t need to be as low as 70. FOV is meant to reduce the likeliness of motion sickness, not increase it.

I know it’s a rhetorical question, but for those who don’t know, it’s the ability to increase the field of vision that your screen can view, or more so the rotation of your screen.
I’m all for more realism for the weapon holding and all, but wouldn’t it cause an unfair advantage for people to have a wider FOV?

They’ll see more objects and have a bigger view but ultimately it won’t bother me. It really depends on who you ask if it’s really an advantage. I can say yes because it lets you see more than someone with a smaller FoV but I’d even say no because it’s just an awareness ordeal that even lower FoV users can get past by simple looking left or right to get a view. I myself am always looking around me making sure no ones in the corner of my screen.
even if it gives an advantage, I honestly don’t think it’s a big one at that but that’s just me. Not to mention it can be of help to those who get migraines or any their sort of dizziness when it comes to a FoV setting not meshing with that person. Plus I think it’d be a real help in h5 specifically to try and let me see past the large -Yoink- guns when you use smart link. In short I think the pros outweigh the cons.
This is one of those things that I have never understand the complaint on. I have never had an issue with a game’s FOV. Hell, outside of people bringing it up while -Yoinking!- I have never even thought about FOV.
