FOUR SHOT KILL Weapons Needed so Desperately

With Sprint and AAs the kill times really need to be at Halo2 speed.

I just don’t understand why the kill times have gotten longer with every Halo game. It screws up the pace of the entire game. What’s worse, there are all these additions that make it take longer to get a kill, so in theory, kill times should be getting faster to balance all the gimmicks.

If you’re going to steal from COD, at least steal some of the kill speeds. I don’t want COD fast kill speeds, but Halo2 kill speeds would make Halo4 so glorious.

I won’t be happy along with many other people if the BR is a 5 shot kill.

Maybe add BXR too?

When you’ve got things like unlockable perks, weapon unlocks and weapon drops that act like kill streak rewards, is it really worth thinking about 4 shot weapons? It’s like talking about how you need a new carpet for your living room while the house is on fire.

5 shot BR to balance out the 5 shot DMR sounds good to me, also conveniently links in with shield strength getting stronger as MJOLNIR improves and upgrades for the spartan 4 program.

Definitely. I don’t know what went through anyones head when they made the BR 5-shot. How can you get rid of such an iconic staple in the series?

You say the BR is back, then take away the glorious 4-shot? It’s treachery I say.

So hopefully they make it 4-shot, or like you said, a LOT of fans will be disappointed.

Or a 4 shot BR and a 4 shot DMR sounds perfect.

Frankie and 343 talk about how fast Halo4 will play. Well, just because players can move faster doesn’t mean the game plays faster.

Kill times are THE KEY to a faster paced experience.

There is a total disconnect if Halo4 releases with 5sk BRs. Unreal.

They upped the fire rate of the BR, and they can do many other things that don’t get rid of the iconic 4-shot BR. Range, recoil, fire rate, and spread are just a few of the options that can balance the gun.

Saying that ruining the signature “4-shot” is needed to balance a gun is preposterous.

Balance the entire sandbox around faster killing weapons. Not slower killing weapons. One way to fix all the gimmicky garbage from killing this game like Reach is with faster killing weapons. 4sk weapons. Weapons that FEEL like Halo. Trust me.

These kill times are getting longer, with a user having sprint and jet pack, quicker kill times are needed, more than any other Halo, yet we have longer.

“But it balances the DMR”…then make the DMR stronger “Other weapons are useless then” then make the other weapons in the sandbox stronger. The key to balance is to make everything viable, not weaken the strongest weapons and slow the whole game down.

The kill times better be quicker than h3… If not I am worried for the game.

We have been saying this since Halo 3, and every new release the developers do the opposite of this logical solution. Now that Frankie’s in charge and obviously has that Bungie bias against accurate precision weapons with his known hatred of the CE pistol, expect more failure with an inevitable TU to fix the flawed precision weapons.

Its the whole noobified approach, make it harder to die. Out of all the things they steal from COD, they dont pick fast kill times.

Firstly, since when did COD have ownership rights to its current features? Answer: They never have. video games over the years have always been using, reusing, and tweaking gameplay mechanics since the first video games.

Secondly, since you don’t know the kill times, I’d recommend waiting to make statements regarding them. Close to instant kill times is not something I want.

Drop all the weapons kill times.

Default reach matchmaking you need power weapons to kill people quickly… I just want to pick up a game and have fun deathmatching, not having to learn where all the bloody power weapons spawn to have a chance of helping out my team.

ALL the weapons in the sandbox should be extremely powerful, make everything ‘overpowered’.

Doesn’t the DMR shoot faster than the BR? How the hell is it going to be balanced if both are a 5sk, but one shoots faster than the other and lacks recoil? The DMR is going to dominate midrange, which is (according to 343) the BR’s strong point. 4sk for the BR, 5sk for the DMR.

No, we want halo quick times, like, 1.2-1.4 range, not “instant”. Its quite easy to work out the kill time roughly on the info we have been given. 5 shot kill, clocks in at the 1.8 mark.

When the game has default sprint AND other AA’s, quicker kill times are needed probably more than any other Halo game, since there are more ways to avoid death.

Or of course, take the approach of the CE/H2, quicker kill times, but with a faster strafe, the average kill time is longer. So your Ogre 2’s are closer to 1 second, but Tommy thumbless has a 2-3 second kill time. Theres your balance, not making the fastest killtime close to the average.
