FOTUS is NOT exclusive to the console?

> There is only ONE FOTUS, and you can only get it from BUYING the CONSOLE.

Like how they said you wouldn’t get the two helmets and emblem with the Limited Edition?

Or how their website used to list Recruit as an exclusive armour piece for the LE?

Or how you used to only have early access to Specializations if you pre-ordered the LE?

It must be hard programming games in flip-flops.

They never said anything like that, except for the first one, which they changed for the better. They said you get a Recruit Skin, which everyone took as the armor itself, and for the Specializations, they said LE people will get them early, not that only LE people will get them early.

> Like how they said you wouldn’t get the two helmets and emblem with the Limited Edition?

They didn’t say that.

They said that the standalone Season Pass and the one in the LE were different SKUs and the one in the LE didn’t include the helmets/emblem.

That statement did not say that would never change.

> Or how their website used to list Recruit as an exclusive armour piece for the LE?

You mean Microsoft’s website?

> Or how you used to only have early access to Specializations if you pre-ordered the LE?

They didn’t say that either.

They said you get early access to all six Specializations. No mention of exclusivity.

And you didn’t need to pre order the LE either.

So advertising the the LE comes with the WGMP and then straight under it saying the WGMP comes with two helmets didn’t cause confusion??? Also a month before release saying that SE get all specs if they play before the 20th didn’t cause confusion??

I know what your going to say that this wasn’t 343i it’s all microsofts fault… but 343i and microsofts marketing teams are basically 1 in the same. If 1 says something you should be able to assume that the other one thinks its true also. However with the current situation you can’t. Just last month (maybe early this month) microsofts site said that the recruit armor was exclusive to the LE, but we all know this is wrong, but there is still confusion.

I just keep on going back to when BS angel said at the start of this whole thing. Something along the lines of “all you have to worry about is if you want the game or the game with all the goodies”.

The amount of bait and switch and flip-flopping on topics that has surrounded this marketing process you can easily understand why some people are confused…

> So advertising the the LE comes with the WGMP and then straight under it saying the WGMP comes with two helmets didn’t cause confusion?

I’ll give you that one.

> Also a month before release saying that SE get all specs if they play before the 20th didn’t cause confusion??

That was Microsoft’s -Yoink- up.

> but 343i and microsofts marketing teams are basically 1 in the same.

And you know this how?

> I just keep on going back to when BS angel said at the start of this whole thing. Something along the lines of “all you have to worry about is if you want the game or the game with all the goodies”.

This hasn’t changed.

> The amount of bait and switch and flip-flopping on topics that has surrounded this marketing process you can easily understand why some people are confused…

I fail to see how it is bait and switch.

And only two things have changed.

So the whole bit about confusion doesn’t make sense.

Limited Edition, along with all the per-order bonuses were advertised as such:

Armor: Banana
Skin: Pudding

Do you know what that meant? You get “Banana Pudding”.

If you saw that and thought “I’m only getting Banana” or “I’m getting Banana AND Pudding” then you simply misunderstood from the beginning and the only person to blame is yourself.

> That is incorrect.
> I asked bsangel about this already.

> It IS in-game armor, not a skin. If you talk to anyone who played the beta build at an event, or look at the videos showing off the armor, you can see that FOTUS does not have any skin variants.

OP is wrong

The armor is listed as Custom Content: Receive a code for downloadable Halo 4 content, including a unique armor skin, unique weapon skin, unique emblem, matching avatar armor, and unique avatar prop.

I think you actually get the armor.

but never know just gotta wait.

> This is actually getting hilarious. Can’t they be clear on anything?

lolno  I don’t care about the armor, but this topic is hooooo-larious.

Edit: Curse you quoting system…

Microsoft is the publisher and 343i is the developer… if anything microsoft as publisher should be the one that has the most accurate information about selling (This is clearly not the case). However since 343i clearly have indicated that they do some of there own advertising in bulletins and such, you would hope that they have some connection between the two sides of the marketing process. So yes maybe I am assuming that 343i and microsoft can operate as a functional marketing team. It still doesn’t take away the point that if one of these companies says something the other one should agree.

Also I now have to worry about where I’m getting the game from and even what country I’m in to get all the goodies.

As soon as you advertise one thing then change it there is going to be confusion from that point on… only two things changing is enough.

I just don’t see why your so dismissive about the chance that what we have been told isn’t true. If I had to put money on something I would say that only the console got FOTUS (The only FOTUS armour as it has only one skin), with an outside chance that when you got to SR-130 you get it as well.

That sucks for Console owners. However, I’ve wanted the Armor, so I win in this situation.

But at the same time, sadly:

> This is actually getting hilarious. Can’t they be clear on anything?

Those stupid unboxing videos should have cleared this up. A simple unboxing and looking through the game case and the whole box could’ve solved all of this lol.

> Those stupid unboxing videos should have cleared this up. A simple unboxing and looking through the game case and the whole box could’ve solved all of this lol.

I agree. I thought it was strange that no one seemed to want to actually show the DLC card with the bonuses on it.

I also agree. Ryan McCaffrey on IGN just rushed through everything. Not one early unboxing videos show anyone actually opening up the game case lol.

Anyway, I’m sure it’s all just a big misunderstanding. Chill out about the FOTUS everyone.

To clear things up once again let me try to help people understand what they mean by armor skin.

In the game, the armor varient’s each have a base armor option. Instead of “applying” a skin to the armor varient you select an entirely new armor option with the skin attachment. Much like the helmets work in halo reach. You select the base helment, or one of the other varient’s with attachments.

In essence the Fotus armor is a skin as well as an armor. There aren’t actually any Fotus armor skins that change the look. So the exclusive skin that the console buyers are getting is the only skin there actually is.

The same thing could be said about the Recruit armor skin that comes with the LE game. In “ESSENSE” you are indeed actually getting the Recruit-Prime armor piece. The Recruit armor piece is the armor available to everyone else.

Since this is blowing up I’m sure they will post a list with everything confirmed on day 1 with all the pre-order stuff, exclusive stuff, and edition stuff. They have posted pretty much everything in bits but after all this they should post everything together confirmed. But we’ll see.

So by that logic the arctic BR skin pre-order bonus from Gamestop gives you the BR instantly without having to unlock it and the console also lets you unlock that forerunner gun - can’t remember if the skin is for the light rifle or suppressor - at level 1 (or whenever you get your first custom class)

Whether it’s just nonsense that has been misconscrude by the retailers, or if they’re truly watering down the console edition now…

All I have to say is: 343i, y u no sense of marketing?

Did anyone post this thread on the Waypoint twitter page?
