I think the FOTUS armor looks amazing. Escept that horn. I know why it is there and what it is suppose to symbolize. But, I think it would look alot better if that outlandish horn wasn’t there. So, I know it is too late for them to change it, and I doubt they would. Hear this, why not make a option in the customization screen to take the horn off? Kinda like Reach. It would be the same helmet, just a different attachment to it. Understand? What do you think?
Dude It’s too late to change anything about the armor.
> Dude It’s too late to change anything about the armor.
Nice. I am sure they can add it as an option in the armory. I am not saying change it completely. Just add it as an option, like the different variations of helmets in Reach.

What part of “It’s too late to change anything” do you not understand?
Wow! Last I heard it wasn’t gold yet. Meaning they can make small changes like this one. Why don’t all you with your negative attitude buzz off? I hate how people get an attitude over the net. real tough. If you don’t have anything constructive to say or show me, don’t post. Simple as that. Real mature community.

If the armory isn’t set up to have variations of armor like in Reach, adding such a feature isn’t a “Small” change, nor is adding/changing armor.

Ok, that’s better. We can actually talk like adults. Now, I wasn’t aware of this. I knew of all the different armors, but there isn’t variations? Was this posted somewhere? Is it a know FACT? Just want to be sure. If so, I actually liked this feature in reach.

All of the early builds where people scanned through the armor variants never showed any screens for attachments.
On top of all the graphical rendering work, adding the GUI for any more attachments would be a laborious task for a small feature to throw in last minute when this “crunch time” needs to be focused on making sure everything is polished, rather than looking to add new content.
What you’d have to see is that even if they did put the work into adding attachments, they would then be asking for a whole new slew of tasks such as testing, bug fixing, and polishing this new feature, and they just don’t have the time for it.
@ SHADOWSTRIKE1 I wasn’t aware. That is alittle disappointing. I understand if they don’t have it how difficult it would be for this. I just wasn’t aware they didn’t have attachments anymore. Well this thread sucks then, lol. Would a moniter please lock this thread? Thanks for the mature and timely replies everyone.

Just for THAT comment, I should treat YOU like a little kid.

Shadowstrike has this correct. This isn’t like writing a book, or a song, where you can add things last second. Game design, just adding a button on the main GUI isn’t a “Small” task, you got to create the textures, Alphas, light tags, adjust the whole GUI to fit the new button, make sure the button works, and it does what it should do. And that’s just adding a button. Adding armor, that’s a whole different ball game there, cause you’re not only adding stuff to the GUI, you’re adding in game content, which with Halo’s engine, you got to add it to more than just one map file, you got to add it to all of the map files that have MP armor. Also, unlike buttons on the UI, Armor, it’s not just one or two files, it’s a lot more, you got the different models for the armor mixes, textures, bump maps, light maps, cubemaps, detail maps, for each of those models. Please tell me you don’t think that you can change/add armor in the limited amount of time they have.
Agreed.
> Agreed.
Agreed with what there mars, need more than “agreed”.
@ weird stealth And for THAT comment, you must be a little kid. Please, I am not into playing these kind of games. Thanks for your input, but try to keep a cap on your ego and temper. It’ll go a long way for you. Hope to see YOU in Halo 4. Later. Off to work.
> Dude It’s too late to change anything about the armor.
Pfft it’s really not. They can put a hornless one in, it’s not like they threw away the key and can never be changed now.
And besides, they know it looks good the way it is already. They would have started with hundreds of different kind of helmets, then once they sorted out which ones they’ll use they would have done a wide variety of them, ranging from ones with spikes on, ones with horns, etc. Then they would have finalized it and started building the 3D model we see now.
It’s not like they didn’t try it without the horn, they just think that it looks better than without.

>.> You want me to watch my temper, don’t call me a kid, don’t even joke about me being a kid, I’m 23, a E4 Specialist in the US Army, by no means am I a kid.

Right…

Please read the last part of my last post quoting Shadow, by no means is there still time.
Make it stop…
> Please read the last part of my last post quoting Shadow, by no means is there still time.
From actually experience in the games industry I know for a FACT that there is time.
I’ve been on projects for the past 3 years where they have added entire new levels or revamped them in the last 2 months before the game has shipped.
The term “Going Gold” means bugger all now, if it’s an aesthetically change like this than it can be easily patched in a day 1 Update, which is basically mandatory with all games now.
So it maybe late but there is still time for them to change it. They won’t mind you because it’s gone through all the discussions and variations possible to get it looking the way it is already.
To answer your question OP; There is still time, but it’s not going to happen.

Erm…That the horn looks like some megatron gizmo, it would really look a lot better without any of that.
