After watching many times the trailer of Forward Unto Dawn, I saw few elements that may bring this movie closer to H4.
We know that this young soldier, Lasky, is assigned somewhere else. Probably to the UNSC Infinity where he will become a leading officer. This is confirmed by his training and his wish to be followed.
Just at the end of the trailer, it takes place near 2553. We heard Cortana who is calling for help. She reveals that Chief is alive. Lasky, who is an officer at this time, understand that his savior need him and he may try to rescue them with the help of the UNSC Infinity.
The sentence “this fall the story of Halo 4 begins at dawn” means that this event which is looking common, Chief saving people, could be a large part of H4. This sentence means that the future story has already begun when Chief saved this young soldier.
Lasky WILL have something to do in the new trilogy, maybe the new companion of Chief, like Sgt Johnson previously.
343 already stated that Lasky would play a major role in the campaign and spartan ops
on the flip side, i bet you the girl who played Susan in Narnia is gonna die in the series, I’m only speculating this because she tells him to leave her in the trailer
Lasky is the Captain of Infinity and I think you see him in the gameplay video from E3.
Anyway i got a question, if this is the beginning of the war wouldn’t Master Chief be working with a group of Spartans? Spartans rarely did solo missions right? We don’t know for sure if he is going to be the only Spartan in the series but it is a good guess, so why would he go in solo?

My bad, I really thought Lasky was the captain. Hmm this makes it a little more interesting, wonder what his role will be in Halo 4. Can’t wait for FUD.
Maybe before the recruits at the academy were attacked, a group of Spartans intercepted the Covenant right by the planet and are fending them off as Chief saves the recruits. I really want to see the Covenant though.

There were people posting in other threads that this takes place 20 or 30 years before the events of halo c.e. Does anyone know where this information came from? Or is that just speculation. I’m just curious on where this was confirmed.
In youtube description, they say that it’s at the beginning of the war between Human and Covenants.
And their first contact was in 2525, approximately 30 years ago.
