Forward Unto Dawn Special Edition Download

I’m sure someone must have asked about this, but just in case:

Can we please have an HD download of Forward Unto Dawn made available?

I bought the limited edition expecting a download, (or even hopefully a DVD), but instead we have to stream the video from Waypoint every time we want to watch it. That’s really inconvenient for data-capped internet connections, not to mention the streaming/buffering issues.

Please just make it available for download as a video file. It wouldn’t be a difficult thing to do.

Its only SD on the site. I played it on my Xbox and it was in HD or aleast not as bad as on this site.

I was rather disappointed by this, and felt as though I had been mislead. They kept marketing it as “The Special Edition of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn”. Not once did they mention you’d have to stream it through Waypoint. If withholding is tantamount to lying, and lying to consumers is considered false advertising, then shouldn’t Microsoft and 343i be in trouble?

This was really annoying I was expecting a Disc or something with a Copy of FOD, not a bloody stream through halo waypoint I coulda watched it on youtube…misleading.

Agreed. I’d like a copy that I could burn to a DVD or something. On the bright side, it is getting released on BluRay, so you’ll be able to get it that way. You’ll have to pay for another copy though.

No, BS. I paid an extra 40 bucks for LE. Doing a little math, that comes out to about $15 for FuD. That’s the price of a full DVD. So unless they plan on sending me a copy of the DVD, I want that $15 back.

I was looking back at the first bulletin talking about the LE game, and 343i/Microsoft left just enough wiggle room to go either way, and that’s just not good business. :=(

Same, I did make a thread on it yesturday but NO ONE COMMENTED IN IT :frowning: but yeah its REALY good quality even on a tv and had no buffering issues and my Internet isn’t the best at times, but I see where ur comming from op it would be nice to download it then I can have it on my iPod

2 many issues at launch 343 clearly is not bungie its a sad day 4 any halo fan

yeah i kinda want a download

the BIGGEST problem with ANY video on XBL is the way it loads

go on youtube for example and if you start it up and then pause it it’ll load the entire video eventually no matter your internet speed thus allowing a decent watch

on XBL however it only loads small segments at a time so depending on whoever is using the net i can have to buffer every 30 seconds which in itself takes 30 damn seconds…

And a lot of trouble… This is such a great start to a hole new saga of the BIGGEST game franchise ever, huh?

now im not going to accuse 313 of “suspicious” or misleading marketing in regards to the FOD release with the limited edition but i will say that it is clearly not as described (even on the box art and info) it is not mentioned that waypoint is required nor is is specifically stated that this will be a stream only media.

the exact wording is ambiguous enough as is simply stating as “Digital Contents” requiring:

“xbox LIVE (free) membership, storage and other requirements apply. xbox LIVE Gold also required for some content”

As digital contents is universally defined as the software (contained within) and additional content within the product it was presumed by many that this would include a direct download or an additional DVD of the re-cut mini movie rather than simply access via digital streaming through another product.

For a lot of people especially collectors this rendered the movie moot in regards to personal ownership of the product requiring the waypoint server to remain active in order to watch a product they have technically purchased and should have access regardless of online capability or streaming quality.

It has been made clear that in some rural areas that HD video streaming is simply not an option and any chance of watching this film in high quality has been taken off the table by the decision to make this a stream only addition to an already quite overpriced and under par limited edition Halo experience but to so soon after release it as a stand alone DVD smacks of penny pinching and lack of concern of the customer that payed for the limited edition in the first place.

this is only my personal opinion but i do feel more than a little disheartened by this as i really enjoyed the film and had hoped for more rather than another cheap cash in on the fanbase and i for one will NOT be purchasing the secondary release.
