Forward Unto Dawn Proves Something

It proves that a Halo movie can definitely be made. With a bigger budget and an even better cast to support it, it can happen and it certainly has the potential to become the first great film based on a video game.

Now all we need is James Cameron… Because James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is… James Cameron.

Afterall, he made Aliens, which might have just inspired Halo in the first place(The Sarge, Parasites, Marines, Colonies, Ship, Weapon, & Vehicle Designs, Ancient Alien Civilization, the humans’ architecture, Artificial Intelligence, etc).

I think a halo movie would be awesome! But didn’t the last movie stop production because microsoft was being greedy and asking for too much money?

That is indeed what happened, maybe they’ll change a little farther down the line. Hopefully.

I’d love a Halo movie sometime in the future, but for now, FUD is enough for me.

James Cameron needs to raise the bar for video game movies.

Legendary episode.

I hope so to
Halo+good budget+awesome director (Cameron, Peter Jackson, Spielberg)= one of the greatest movies ever

Spielberg has expressed interest in the Halo universe and obviously Jackson as well. Although it’s unlikely that Peter Jackson will return since he already tried quite hard to revive the project.

James Cameron doesn’t do what James Cameron does, for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is, James Cameron.

Another possibility is Ridley Scott although i think Speilberg or Cameron Would be a better choice

Cameron, hands down. Although he will probably be occupied with the Avatar movies for another while.

Yeah Cameron is the best of the 4. Although i never thought Avatar was as awesome as every else claimed it to be.

Neil Blomkamp proved that a Halo movie could be made with WETAs help. The Forward Unto Dawn stuff is ok, but its not great.

Blomkamp and Jackson would be an amazing team for making a Halo film, which just makes me gutted that it didn’t work out.

When is MS going to realize they can just fund the movie themselves

So far we haven’t seen any combat in FWD with the exception of the training scene so you can’t really compare it to landfall just yet. I liked landfall but i prefer FWD more story and character oriented approach

That choice really depends on the direction and tone they would want for a halo movie, after avatar and the last Indiana jone, I want Cameron and Spielberg as far from halo as possible just because of what they do to the things they love.

J.J. Abrams would be a good choice.

But I feel that Scott could bring depth and emotion into a halo project that no one else could given his background in the genre.

Boom. Profit right there.

Every director will have a bad movie or 2 i don’t think just because of a recent movie that was poorly done that Spielberg or Cameron are bad directors.

Landfall’s combat was pretty damn impressive for a 2007 Live Action SHORT that promoted a VIDEO GAME. That right there proves what Blompkamp is capable of, not to mention, District 9.

> I think a halo movie would be awesome! But didn’t the last movie stop production because microsoft was being greedy and asking for too much money?

Sort of. Microsoft wanted complete creative control and rights to merchandising. They did also want an unrealistically large portion of the profits.
