Forward Unto Dawn MC armor is...

It seems that the armor in the trailer is the same armor in The Package!

hehehe… waits

Helpful post: Yup! they decided to go with that look since it fit the time frame of “the package” (30 years prior to halo 4 i believe)

umm… yeah no s h i t its from the same era, in other words its either somewhere before the package, the Humans meet the Covenent ( SGTMAJ Johnson was the first to see how the War began and how it Ended, RIP

It is

Correct!

I think it was a good decision going with the fiction and cannon rather than trying to impress and attract those who are getting into Halo 4 with that armour.

I am impressed, 343…very impresssed. They could have done a new whatever…

Well played, 343. Well played.

They’re both mk iv. I think they used that one and not the halo wars (better) version because they don’t have rights to it.

I checked. It is visually not the same armor as the halo wars armor.

Now…will this armor have shields or not? According the FoR , it shouldn’t…Right?

As far as we know Chief never had that same set of Mk IV armor as SoF’s Red Team had…
Besides: Mk. IV seems to have come in multiple variations.
The one we saw in The Package, the “standard” version Six wears in Reach, the one from Halo Wars (and possibly even the version Grey Team wears).

But FuD takes place around 2525/2526.
Just after first contact with the Covenant, and most likely at the brink of the first battles being publically announced (seeing as ONI kept it under wraps for a while). Chief already seems to be known with fighting Covenant a bit (logically, as he got the Mk. IV armor just before first encountering the Covenant), but it seems unlikely it takes place after The Package (as the Spartans and UNSC as a whole seems to be more up to date on the Covenant and their ship’s structure etc).

So having Chief in the “same” set of armor he wore in the Package makes sense.

Nonsense. All Halo related rights are property of Microsoft. Not of Bungie. Not of Ensemble Studios (who made Wars) and not of 343i (as far as I know).
They could use the Wars set if they want to…but they go for their own visual style. Like every Halo developer so far had it’s own style.

It kinda makes sense, if the the older line officer is the the older version of young Lasky…it makes a bit of sense.

Really 343 doesn’t have the rights to the Halo Wars game? Weird.
